Jerry Sloan may be an effective coach, but he sucks the soul out of basketball. His players lose the love of the game and end up playing ugly. The guy is dour as hell.

No that's more on why Chuck never won a championship. He never understood why anyone should have to play defense.

    This.

Sloan may be the WORST choice of all the available coaches.

What has happened to this board? No Rockets fan in his/her right mind would want Jerry Sloan within 1000 miles of this team.

As much as Rockets fans might hate on Jazz, you have to credit Sloan for the results he's gotten. Execution is his M.O. On offense, the PNR has been lethal for 2 decades, while defensively, adjectives such as "gritty" and "tough" (and maybe "dirty") always come to mind.

I'm willing to put personal feelings aside if it means Rockets can compete at a high level every year.

I couldn't agree more. I'd rather bring back Rudy, Van Gundy, RA, Don Cheney, or just about anyone other than that. Sloan is the antithesis of what the Rockets have always been about.

This whole episode is now like the most awesome April Fools joke ever.

Well done, clutch. Got me. Especially holding back 17 days. Totally caught me off guard.

Looking forward to having the Monocle Man back next yr.

regardless of whether or not the teams is trying to rebuld, Sloan would be beneficial. For a young or rebuilding team, a veteran coach that knows what he is doing can draw out the best of a player. Take Miami for example, they have all this talent on their team but still need an experienced coach to take them to the next step. As much as it pains me to say, I want Sloan to replace RA upon his leave

The number of people supporting Jerry ****ing Sloan as Rockets coach is seriously disgusting. You don't trade your soul for wins.

Wow. My Jazz hatred had blocked that option from my mind completely before seeing this post.

I hate to say it, but this really intrigues me. Seems like he would be the smoothes transition for our current roster as well.

Feigen brought up the idea of Adleman and our MIT crew didn't mix well due to the fact that Coach was old school. Generally used little more than the box scores and film. I can't see Jerry Sloan being the guy who comes in and starts using raw analytic in his game planning. Seems like they would rather find someone who takes all of those calculations into consideration.

The photo is not large enough to show the entire story; i.e. Karla's bearhug on Clyde.

Although I hate the Jazz... I have no choice but to agree with you. Rox should not let Adelman go in the first place.

he is the best coach available, no doubt. I think he would do wonders for Martin and Scola.

This is like dealing my soul to the devil. Win now and betray all the memories or suck indefinely(?)?
