Besides Kidd or Nash, I don't want nobody else for PG.

Then you better stop dreaming. I'd be happy if we get Kenny Anderson/J.R. Bremer.

Moochie for Kenny Anderson.....that would be a perfect trade for the Rockets.

Don't think you need a BIG name PG in the Rockets system.

    ROLE DEFINITION

I agree with A-Train. Steve Francis is very skilled and athletic. But he won't be passing all the time. Stockton always was a passer first, then a three-point threat second. Part of the terrific duo that played in Utah.

But who's gonna give the Rockets the point guard that they need? Nobody.

I'd wish for Jason Williams of Memphis, but Jerry West ought to know the value of a point guard.

Intriguing is the role of Jamaal Tinsley with the Pacers. What could the Rockets offer the Pacers that would make them interested? Moochie Norris? kidding right? Eddie Griffin and Maurice Taylor? kidding again.

Maybe the Rockets just ought to wait for next year's batch of rookies and hope another T.J. Ford or credible point guard aspires to play in the NBA.

We have a point guard. The point guard postion, has changed over the years. ALL teams want a PG that score and pass. We dont need a PG who cannot shoot at all. Aka Jamal Tinsley
Steve Francis is the new breed of point guards ok.
All you steve haters, just want to trade him, because he DOESNT pass to Yao evey time up the court. Steve is our BEST player, and just get used to it.

If Steve and Yao cannot exist on the same team, then I say fire the coach. No Excuses. There is way too much talent there for it not to wort out. Good luck JVG, I'm rooting for you.

"New breed?" Come on! Are you 12? He's a short-shooting guard, period. Look at both his stats and play on the court. His "shortness" (for a SG) in stature is overcome up by his great leaping ability. So, he has an advantage there (natural gift). But he's not a "new breed of PG." That's just an excuse.

Point guards that pass (efficiently) and shoot will not go "out of style." They do exist. Anyone seen Carlos Arroyo lately?

By the way, our team is fine for now. Let them play out the season. We will make other changes in our roster later. But that does NOT include "trading" Steve....Maybe Mobley, Cato, Moochie, or Taylor. Well see...

After watching the Toronto game, let's just face it. We need to waive Steve and Yao. They possess no trade value.

-an angry rockets fan after the game

I think you should shut up now, SF got one assist in 50 min, and he shoot the ball for 27 times!

Francis is not a PG - period. He is not smart enough. He is a 2-guard.

All the hybrid, new age, new breed, combo guard talk is just naive nonsense. Hogwash. That guy is just not intrelligent enough and there is absolutely no reason or evidence that that will change - even if we win 60 games. Reality is reality.

Bring in a TRUE PG - a smart one. Common February

Baron Davis is the on PG who is a legit threat as a passer and scorer. When i see the Rockets,..I don't see Steve continually making plays by passing. His penetration is often followed by either him scoring..or often turning it over in the paint. I agree now, that steve at the 2 position would be interesting. As a PG.. I expect him to pass the ball.. always..but instead, you see him dribbling and dribbling..and then trying to squeeze a last second jumper. (even though he usually hits it)

Steve Francis is NOT a good point guard..he is a servicable one. Steve Francis' athletic ability is the only reason why he is still at the one spot. Everytime he has tried to get on any type of national team he has been passed up for a more legitimate PG..every..single..TIME! He doesn't see the floor well, there isn't a shot he doesn't like..and he can't complete a fast break pass to save his life. The commentators, specifically future Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley said it best last week, "Steve is fighting JVG's new system". He is. Its really pathetic that fans get so pizzed off because other fans think Steve should be moved to the two. We're not saying he's not a helluva player..we're only saying he's not a one. Does this mean we're saying give it to Moochie? No. But its time to stop cutting off our nose to spite our faces. Jeff, give this deadly experiment the rest of the year and do whatever you have to..to make the position shift happen. Whenever your center, your SF (Jim Jackson) and just about every other player on your bench is more LIKELY to pass the ball more and more efficient than your PG ...its a TELL-TALE sign. Geez!!

The Rockets will never see a championship with francis and mobley. And will probably have to wait 5 or 6 yrs. before they finally realize it.

How about Bobby Jackson, the. great 6th man for the Sac Kings

good passer with good offensive skills, and a tennacious defender, he is about 1-2 yrs older than Francis.

I think this is the last yr of his contract. so a trade is, most probably, out of the question; but Rox can pick him up as a FA.
