I agree with you. I just love Luis Scola so much that I'd love to see him at the end of our bench one last time even if there is nothing left in the tank. Obviously I'd rather someone who addresses our current needs, but I really don't even see that guy out there. Looks like Bogut is going to Cleveland. Sanders is too rusty. I can't imagine a d-league or european player being ready to contribute in time for the playoffs. So if we can't get the guy we need, it may as well be Scola!
The Rockets fan in me is saying yes but my mind says no unless it's the playoff eligible deadline and we haven't gotten a better fit.
exactly what? so what he shot 40% on maybe 2 attempts a game a year ago. That doesn't mean much besides he'll shoot a 3 if hes completely wide open but it's definitely not his preference
If plan A is not going thru. Scola would be good choice as insurance policy. We need someone to teach Harden Español for off the court purposes. Coolo!!!
In Bosnian, Scola or skola means 'school'. I was always saying Luis 'School of basketball'. Sounds good in bosnian. I would really love him back.
In the playoffs, youll have Nene full time anyways. You just need a big body to get Clint and Nene to the playoffs.
I would love that as a fallback plan if we can't get anyone good. But let's be real, it would be a nostalgia pop, not an improvement to the team. Would greatly prefer (if available) Koufos, Chalmers, or even (God help us) Terrence Jones. (Matt Barnes would also be a much better fit if you ignore the fact that he is anthropomorphic pond scum.)
I just tried to convince myself there are better players available. I can't pass on Scola. Gotta bring him in if he's on the market. Let him retire in the honor and glory of Rockets red, not the Nets black uniforms of despair and shame.
I'd sign him too. But only if Rockets have exhausted every opportunity to bolster postseason rotation with a 3-D wing back up or a true rim protecting/rebounding beast at the 5.
