Even though the team was bad he had no reason to quit. He is getting paid max money to go out and perform for the team. I wish I would tell my boss "Well this company is garbage and I'm only gonna give you 50% production until you make it better" Please.

He may not want to come back after this season depending on how it goes. Depending on how the offseason goes next season I really believe he is going to be like Gary Payton and try to be on ring chasing mode. Probably sign with a Team that has a high chance of winning it all. That's just my opinion.

i'd LOVE to have tmac back.

but it will depend on how selfish tmac is with his salary requirements. if he truly wants to win and change his image in the nba, he will resign for around 10 mil, publicly announce that 10% of his salary is going to help people in darfur, play within the team game, and try his hardest to win a championship.

i do like what tmac brings to the table. this team still needs him, no matter who morey signs this off-season.

Maybe he was trying to find you dude cause you are in the exact same threads.

And this isn't a praise Tmac thread, it's posing a question.

AntiSonic can post what he thinks is the answer....

Unless R2K goes North Korea on him.

Wow, I went to sleep, woke up, and TMac threads had bred like rabbits.

I don't really want TMac past '10, and I don't really want Yao past '10. It's time for new stars. My heart has been broken in the playoffs too many times already.

Well he's 30 and isn't getting younger, pass. My guess is even if he does come back and performs at a high level he won't be able to do it for very long.

Never, do not resign except for "role player" money, and that goes for Yao as well. Absolutely no max. money; the risks are far too high.

I agree, I want to see whether Tmac is loyal to his team if he is offered a contract extension. Maybe he will go join his best bud Kobe just like Ron.

However he does say he wants to win one by his own without Kobe..

No, let him play, build up his value and ship him off to someone else that falls in love with his talent but ignores his lack of competitive fire...or heart.

I would like to bring him back at a reduced salary. Ask him to take a paycut around less of what Yao makes to add Championship pieces here and because of health concerns and see if he would return. In fact both should take less for their health risks and to build a Championship team.

Yeah I saw this video but I really don't believe him. At some point its obvious its going to hit him in the head and he is going to realize that he needs help. I doubt it he waits too long before Kobe's days are damn near over. It would be smart to play with Kobe when he is at his peek when you have the chance. He isn't showing no signs of decline so if he has the chance next season and LA is still a top notched team. Hey why not.

If Mac comes back and looks like Mac/ 20+ points, 5 reb, 5 ast and 40% from 3/ then yes definitely! But it couldn't be any longer than 3 years due to his last three years of injury. 3 years 40mil maybe?

Touche. That article was from February 2009, right around the time where everyone started to turn on him because of his antics. I actually haven't seen that article before, and it pisses me off somewhat that he lists all these big men that he hasn't been fortunate enough to play with when he's been with Yao Ming for 4 years. An injured Yao Ming for half the time, but still.

McGrady either played with an injured or still developing Yao Ming.

All the big man he named are truly superstars, while Yao at best is just an All-Star, I have never seen anyone get shut down by one type of defense. The fronting def will never allow Yao to reach superstar status. None of the superstars could ever be stop because of the way teams are playing them. They will find a way to score no matter what. Yao cannot do that.

I really don't get the hate on this article. Yao Ming has proved nothing as a player. He hasn't proved he can dominate like Shaq or Tim Duncan has. The Rocket teams that Tracy Mcgrady and Yao Ming have been on are exactly that, AVERAGE.

I mean the current team is what I would class as not average if we had a full squad.

    Brooks/Lowry
    T-mac /Ariza/Chase
    Battier / Ariza/Chase
    Scola/Landry/Hayes
    Yao/Anderson/Hayes

Depth and quality players at every position. We have NEVER been able to say that. Our teams have been average. Yao has been average in the playoffs.

Its just the truth and it hurts but its the truth
