if JVG comes back you don't get out of the first round. Nothing wrong with RA's philosophy, just his method of implementation. You need to improve on offense, yes. That means you run ZERO defensive drills? Come on. Rockets used to win on nights when their shots weren't falling.

I don't understand why everyone says JVG can't make it out of Round 1. I'm going to be laughing at all you guys next year when JVG's KNICKS, YES THE KNICKS, not only make the playoffs, but make it out of Round 1 and JVG gets Coach of the Year.

Getting out of the first round had been a problem for JVG, except 4his last season with the Knicks.

Well, not that my opinion has any credibility...

But there is a reason JVG is held to the highest regard WITHOUT A RING.

The man can coach. Did you hear any player worth a damn talk bad about him or the team? Nope. Took all of 2 months for Yao to go nuts on his new coach.

You don't appreciate anything until its gone. I gave JVG enough time to take my team past round 1. But looking at the talent Rick has...I can only dream what JVG would do with this team AND defense AND intensity.

But...too late. They are chanting JVG at the Knicks games so he might go there to fix that crap.

Adelman is not a better coach, guys and gals. Just see what the LEAGUE (not fans who average 15 years of age) say about JVG. Ewing, Oakley, LJ, Ward, T-Mac, Yao...the proof is in the pudding.

Anyone say anything great about Rick? Heard any player love him like they love JVG?

    Bonzi!

Still, since JVG ain't coming back, Rick can't be fired. The man just got here. But we might be disappointed in the results and start feeling a wee bit nostalgic....

Well, here is my theory: "A french chief can't cook chinese food."

Our team is not offensively talented as a group. But we are a good defensive team, which worked out well with JVG, since he's a defensive minded coach. But Aldeman is like a french chief, and our players are the ultimate chinese food ingredients, and only JVG knows how to cook them. So when RA tries out some french recipes, it tasted horribly. So i guess we can either change the ingredients or change the cook.

JVG took a 8 seeded knicks team to the finals i think.

anyway, JVG isnt the problem, problem is that this team has no heart.

find a way to get kobe! neither parties are getting any younger

What happens in 2010? Is that when they will get rid of an injury riddled TMac and a plodding Yao and start playing that "Phoenix style"?

Actually alot of players love him. But that's not what makes a good coach anyway.

That being said I will concede I was one of the biggest Van Gundy haters. I thought he was a very good defensive coach but his offense was pathetic. I now see this team is difficult to coach offensively. They just don't work with motion. And being caught in the middle of trying to make an offense work that doesn't fit while forgetting the one thing that was a constant, defense, is destroying the team.

I also thought he was stunting Yao and catering to Tmac. He had double standards it seemed and thought was just unacceptable. I now see that maybe the way JVG handled Tmac was the way he had too. JVG is a better all around coach then what I had given him credit for and it seems his style is being missed.

Nice job stepping up to the crow. Where's that other ass who was constantly dancing on JVG's grave? That guy needs two helpings.

I somehow feel the team has lost its identity....

and it never found a new identity as well...

no defense anymore...yet offense has not been picked up either...

the team has lost its soul..

Remember Jon Barry played for both RA and JVG and he said RA isn't that great a coach. His system takes 3 years to set in, and firing JVG was a stupid move by the ROckets according to JB.

Yeah, that's it. For someone's who was so vocal about JVG, where are you now, DaDakota? Don't have the sack to step up to the plate?

according to a lot of people it was stupid. It was just a stupid PR move made by an overzealous owner.

Wow, hell has frozen over. That, or someone hacked OMR's account. :D

You've come a long way since saying that "hiring JVG will go down as the biggest Rockets mistake of all time." Kudos on the willingness to eat crow.
