Im not implying that under RA we'll make do well in the playoffs. Because like you guys said, its obviously not happening given the way they're playing.

Im just saying I'd like to see playoff results regardless of who is coaching or who is playing, which is why bringing back JVG would be questionable. I think the players were tired of JVG and his coaching ways after 3 years, so bringing him back, the players would still be tuned out.

NY is actually a better option and situation for JVG. They can't go any lower there. If he were to turn that team around, he'd be a cult hero.

i am going crazy man, this makes NO SENSE.

does RA even have a GAMEPLAN?

how hard is it to get yao off in the post against the warriors? or against the raptors?

my arguement is that although JVGs team were boring and had a "grind it out" style, they had an identity.

    this team has NONE

The only way for Van Gundy to come back would be for Les to beg him.

He isn't coming back period end of discussion.

He never should have been fired.

    We've lost our defensive intensity.
The offense isn't near as good as last year's offense.

I don't know whose fault it is that the team is playing so badly right now. But JVG is certainly not coming back. I don't miss the playing style that JVG brings, but I do miss the WINs. Just want to figure out what' wrong with the team.

that argument makes much more sense in past years than it does this year.

i agree. i don't see where players or talent are the issue here...

    what i do see?

RA taking yao away from the basket

    RA using sporadic substitution patterns

RA choosing to start rafer over francis

aint going to happen as long as Les has the pocket. Except maybe Yao forces it, which I doubt he would ever do out of his passive personality.

    Fair enough.

But to be fair, JVG was never given this much talent and quality players to work with when he was here. Minus Bonzi, who probably would still have been pansying about his treatment from JVG, we still have the addition of James, Scola and Francis, who by themselves are already better than who JVG had last year.

Rick Carlisle make sense in that he plays the same grind it out defensive basketball as JVG. This team is slow. Remember when JVG said this team is slower than S**T? Slow will notwin you games in the NBA and this team is not constructed for speed. More exciting brand of basketball my @ss.

I always felt let JVG go was a mistake. His only shortcoming is not developing young talents well.

After game 7 in Dallas and especially at home against Utah it shows that it doesn't matter how hard your coach works the players on the team either have it in them or they don't. These guys just don't have it. Rick is putting it on the players like Phil jackson and Pat Riley would and the players on the rockets can't handle it because they are high paid, spoiled, little girls. That starts with Tracy imo.

On the contrary, firing RA will make the Rockets look smart.

Guys just calm down while Les' and Rick's 2.5 year plan to remake this team into something "more Phoenix-like" comes to fruition.

Around 2010 you will all bump this thread and we will eat some onions and have a good laugh. :)
