Tank Commander lost his job. Spoiler http://www.theintell.com/sports/six...cle_9118ddd6-9976-11e5-b8b1-47ae1a867f7a.html http://mobile.philly.com/beta?wss=/philly/sports/sixers&id=361050021
I'm sure having more veterans and being cordial with agents would've helped the culture and okafor situation. Possibly more wins, too.
It would have helped some, but of course, Hinkie's relationships with agents are terrible. But that's another one of his blindspots.
You are a phony coward.......and you're not that smart. You spew common sense and quote it as some fancy academic's theory to try and look smart. You'll make a thread about your just learned arithmetic and quote freaking Maxwell's Equations. Since you won't meet to talk the way you do behind your safe keyboard to my face, my only alternative is to put you on Ignore. You do the same for me and quit replying to my posts. I don't want to take notice of you again.
Okafor + Hinkie for Sam Dekker + Montrezl Harrell + 2nd round draft picks 2025, 2030, 2035, 2040, 2045, ... who says no?
Quiet. Enough of your nonsense. This thread is about Hinkie, not about you, you dumb w****. Hinkie's plan is a plan. The fact he presented options to the owners, and then this happens is unfortunate.
Since it's been established that we must trade James Harden, I can think of no greater man to tear it all down than Sam Hinkie. Let's get the band back together!
No you are the one who doesn't know what he's talking about. Puting the Bucks in the same conversation of Minny and Philly? The previous owner didn't allow the team to tank except in his last year! They were never consecutively at the high lottery draft like these other teams. And they may have been 8th seed or bust but they are historically one of the better teams at developing their players. There is a whole research paper on that. ( Dallas is the worst by far). So since this conversation is about HINKIE, in the same time as Hinkie was bottoming out to get draft picks to have a championship caliber team in the future, Milwaukee by only tanking once has managed to develop multiple players (2 of them to max rookie extensions ) and not make a complete fool of itself, and that's with a very bad GM on its helm. What exactly has Philly done to develop players since 2013 when he started? They only have managed to develop one, Covington. All those high lottery picks and second rounders and only one "gem" to show for it now. Noel has regressed, Wroten is the same as ever, all their D-leaguers/second round picks haven't shown signs of being rotation caliber players. Even last years worst NBA player to get minutes, Johny O bryant who I myself made plenty of fun of in this forum, this year has proven worthy of playing minutes this year as a backup forward. So where is the progress in Philly? That you will take 10 times out of 10 over the other teams?
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So Hinkie and Brown run the team during the week, but Colangelo and MDA get custody on the weekends? <a href="https://t.co/tdO0d7DM4k">https://t.co/tdO0d7DM4k</a></p>— Seth Partnow (@SethPartnow) <a href="https://twitter.com/SethPartnow/status/675551726737330176">December 12, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
WTF?!?!?!!? They literally JUST extended Brown. And MDA will sit back and be an associate to a new coach with one of the worst records in History? And btw there's no way this is a Hinkie move. This is Colangelo's first move and it came very fast and it proves that Hinkie is a pretty much a figurehead now.
Yes, I am sorry but the there is a handful of franchises in the NBA, the Bucks included, which are mostly irrelevant. I am not talking about what teams are allowed and not allowed to do. I am talking about an approach to building a team, which is why I compared those teams. I could care less about the Bucks Max rookie extensions. That is not appealing to me because it represents a commitment to a team that will never be relevant. That is exactly the point, they aren't investing in players that are not worth it. That is appealing to me. The progress is that they are closer to obtaining a franchise caliber player than Milwaukee is, which is the only thing that matters.
No further proof was needed. You don't bring in guys like Colangelo without turning control over to them. He wouldn't have accepted otherwise. I probably have the worst opinion of D'Antoni possible. This is a mistake IMO.
Yes but he's 70 and will continue to live permanently in Arizona. So there was always a little doubt and there there was the usual PR spin the owner, Hinkie, Colangelo put in the press conference and then the Lowe HInkie interview. (which included btw many straight up outrageous lies/excuses). This is just for me the nail in the coffin that proves without a doubt that Hinkie is kaput. Let's see what happens next. I also can't believe that MDA will let his ego to stand behind someone like Brown. No way.
I am sorry, but they do not. The Bucks have no franchise caliber talents and have no hope of obtaining one in this "era". That is the whole point.
I guess bringing back Hinkie will be a realistic option in the near future since he might be unemployed.
