Agree. I don't even think it'd take much to get him out of NY. Maybe Howard, Head and a 2nd rounder? I think if Steve would accept a bench role here, he'd be a great fit. Plus, he's definitely that 3rd scorer that we need. But, either way, it's a long shot at best.
Steve Francis is a poster boy for what went wrong in the NBA for a few years....more important to get on sportscenter with a dunk than it is for making sound basketball plays. I am sure David Wood bled for Houston too, but I don't want him back on the Rockets either. Francis was a freakish athlete, that just never GOT IT...he never learned how to play under control and make his teamates better, he dominates the ball and is a HORRID defender. We have Yao and Tmac to carry this team now, we need players that compliment them, and Steve Francis dribbling till his heart is content does NOT compliment our team. Pass...........which is another something he had trouble learning
Bringing in Steve Francis isn't that different from the Heat's brining in Antoine Walker...If we can do it without sacrificing too much, I don't see why not. As a sixth man, he's better than Mike James, and the board was crazy about him. It won't happen, because Steve Francis makes too much(Win Now...as long as it's cheap?) for his production. You can have three max contracts if you're talking Magic, Kareem, and James Worthy. Not Yao, T-Mac, and Franchise. Les would probably be pretty against paying max money to a guy that will put up in the neighborhood of 16-18 points a game.
I would love to get SF back to rockets uniform. But, realistically that ;s impossible. given SF salary no way we can afford him, unless our owner willing to open his wallet wide open. some of you think SF is a bad idea, but i do think SF would bring alot to our table and solidified our backcourt. The only issue i have is SF playing the PG, he is a SG not a PG. if you noticed how SF play, he often time dribble for too long and take matters into his own hand. we need him to run and run or take it to the hoop. not standing dribble around and play 1 on 1. if those issue can be iron out than SF is what we needed.
I wish we could do this but i dont think we have enough to offer. He played his heart out for the rockets and you know he wont screw up the second time around. With Francis well have that 3rd scorer and he can run the point if needed.
yea has anyone noticed he hasnt played as well as he was when he was still a rocket? id like to see him back in h-town, but it wont happen...
- too short for a 2-guard - not a consistent shooter - not a good defender - turnover prone - hasn't really done anything with the Magic or Knicks to make me believe he has finally "gotten it" - and finally, like many have already mentioned; he has a MAX contract going
francis had all kinds of problems with JVG when he played here and he would never be the third option on any team (as he would here with tmac and yao as the first and second options). he doesnt like playing defense, and is inconsistent and makes bad decisios (in addition to dribbling all the air out of the ball )
Crawford would be great...He's a good scorer, he's young, he's got size, can handle the ball, good crossover, good shooter, will grab some rebounds for you, and will take and make clutch shots Drawbacks: Not a real good defender, not very strong, and has a long term deal With the glut of guards in the Knicks backcourt, I definitely think this is a realistic deal and both sides would benefit. Last season the Knicks were trying hard to deal Crawford before the trade deadline and he handled the situation and all the rumors with lots of maturity iirc. Having a 2 guard trio of Snyder, Crawford, and Head would be great imo. Also, Snyder and Crawford could play some minutes at the 3 to give T-Mac a breather.
I would much rather have Crawford 10 fold but man is this like the First timer/rook thread on this page alone their are 5, ten post or less people.
YES!! I think it's a wonderful idea. Last season, I found there is some statistic change in SF3's game, increased Assist, less score, and less TO. I think it's a sign that he tried to change his game. I said Bring SF back!
