I completely understand that. But ... We have the worst backcourt in the NBA, and there's isn't anyone out there on the market who is going to change that. We really don't have any trade assets to accomplish the task of getting someone who isn't overpayed, yet can solidify our backcourt. Hence the thread ....
I think Zeke is set on Marbury-Francis in the backcourt. That leaves Nate Robinson, QRich, and Crawford fighting for backup minutes or minutes at the 3 spot along with Jalen Rose plus a still unsigned Qyntel Woods. Something has to give there. It sure would be nice if we could acquire Crawford for Howard.
OH MY GOD! WHAT ARE YOU PPL THINKING? FRANCIS? REASON WHY HE GOT SHIPPED OUT IS BECAUSE HE DIDN"T WANT YAO TO BE THE MAN!
shut this thread down we are not THAT BAD in a shape to resort back to stevie non-franchise. he has fallen off terribly and i don't see him resurrecting his career anytime soon. like the previous posts says...WHAT ARE YOU GUYS THINKING?
Chill out w/ the upper-case. Like I said, it would be interesting to see if his Orlando/NYK experience has changed his mentality at all.
Actually the reason why francis got shipped out was because TMAC was on the block. We werent actively shopping francis out. Yes he had some offcourt problems(see superbowl) but he was always a Good player, who played 100% for the city. It would be awesome to get him back, and francis IMO would flourish as a 2nd/3rd star on a team. But mark my words, he would never play for Van dumby ever again.
Please no, the guy has such poor decision making skills. We don't need another guy to dominate the ball.
My point is that Francis would have a negative effect on this team with his tendency to dribble for 20 seconds before passing. Adding random talent in the NBA doesn't work, as you have to have guys that complement each other. Francis doesn't complement Yao and TMac at all.
Couldn't agree more. He is exciting and his reunion with the city and Yao would be nice , but he is not what we need. Bad decision maker.
Ok I got it, essentially this is what this trade boils down to: Rox trade Rafer (not a good shooter and is not turn over prone) for Steve Francis (still cant shoot had a worse 3P % than even Rafer and is turnover prone). SF is a master baker compared to Alston! While the Rox are at it why not just get Marbury instead, he has basicly accomplished the same as Francis in his career with less turnovers more points and assists....
Please God, don't allow them to bring Fancy back to my beloved Rockets. I don't think I could stand to watch him dribble around for 15 seconds at the end of another game before heaving an off-balance fadeaway 30-footer. I would rather start Luther Head than have Fancy getting any PT in Houston. I would rather bring back Charles Barkley in his current shape than Francis. If they are going to look into bringing back any former Rockets, it should be Mobley, with Cato a distant second.
Dont know what you been smoking but a backcourt with Alston and Tmac aint to shaby so i would just like to suggest that you get of that crak you got going on over there!
I agree, but think we shouldn't wait on trading Battier until next year's draft. Instead, let's throw him into the Francis trade, plus our #32 from this year in there to get their proven perimeter shooting PF Maurice Taylor from the Knicks. This Novak kid is an inknown, we can't be taking any chances! Win Now! Or was it, Duty Now for the Future! Or was it mediocrity later, mediocrity now! Errr...wait a sec, come to think of it, I think I don't have that quite right. Hold on...
How is not getting a 3rd scorer better for the Rockets. If T-Mac was asked how he felt about Steve being a Rocket I am shure he would love the Idea of having somebody take pressure off him on scoring and back then the only player to pass the ball to was cat and the rest had to be done by him.
I know it doesn't make sense, but i just can't imagine Steve Francis in a Rockets jersey, can someone help me out? Photoshop oppurtunity!
