Hmmm, let's see. The Rockets won 3 times as many playoff games last year as Steve has won in his entire 6 (soon to be 7) year career.

Why do people always insist on going backwards? Rudy is gone and he isn't coming back. Same with Steve. Can we move forward now?

Ya want an analysis? Okay. Playing SF and T-Mac side by side won't work. Francis is not effective as a point guard, and when T-Mac is the primary ballhandler that takes too much away from his offensive game.

Plus, who do we give up to get Francis and his max contract? Probably Juwon Howard, Rafer and somebody else. Who do we get back besides Francis? Not Jameer Nelson, who the Magic probably like better than Francis right now. Travis Diener? Pass. Patt Garity? Pass. Steven Hunter just got traded for second round picks.

Really, we traded Francis for a reason, and it wasn't jsut to get T-Mac. He knew that he wasn't going to take us where we want to go, and that he had value to a team with a disgruntled star like T-Mac.

F- Steve Francis. I would have rather kept Mobley.

wouldnt that just be some sort of ROBBERY? i mean if we dont give up yao or tmac...and we get back francis. not that i want him, but it would make the magic look REAL bad. i think they would want to deal with us last...or if at all bc of the francis tmac trade.

I can't believe a thread like this exists, let alone someone would have the balls to even start it. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

I miss team when yao vs shaq I, at least we can enjoy.
Tmac, what can I say, he need presure, if no presure he can not do that 13/30s, but how to give him this pressure? Now he is No1 already.

It works at realgm if we trade Howard+Sura+Moochie for Francis. But why would Magic accept this deal when weis-ass is gone for good?

How about a 3 team trade where some other suckers get stuck with Fancy and we actually pick up somebody worth having.

    1. He's overpaid
    2. He doesnt pass well
    3. He just recently quit on his team. This makes him attractive WHY?

Can anyone explain why people cannot get over the Stevie era? Yeah he was a nice guy but it was unwatchable basketball filled with turnovers, whining at officials, and one feeble playoff appearance. Using this year, a year where everyone has been injured, as an excuse to bring back SF is faulty logic.

I am still a fan of Franchise and would like to see him in a Rockets uniform again. I don't think it would be cheap and I don't see how we can make Orlando an attractive offer.

We can't afford to send him the first effective point guard we have had for some time. We are also too old and too far from playoff contention to send them our younger players. I feel all we can offer them are veterans who could help stabilize the team while they continue the building process. I am afraid we would have to give up Howard and Wesley plus some other player just to get him. I think Swift has too much on an underachiever label and they still have Cato who they already appear to be peddling. I believe the Magic already have some cap space and are on trying to build a young nucleus around Howard, Nelson and Stevenson.

If a reasonable deal can be made, I will drag my #3 jersey our of retirement and wear it proudly.

Weren't we all hailing Alston as the PG we've been all looking for in the past? Finally a PG that'll force feed Yao
    successfully?
A PG that doesn't hesitate to pass, and passes well?
    A distributor?

Now we want to give him away for... Stevie?

I have a quesiton.. For all the people that want ole Steve-o
back.. Can you all actually picture, see, envision, Steve
feeding well timed passes to T-mac and Yao? Can you all actually even remotely imagine, Steve's production comming back and all those "Give Yao the damn ball!", "Too many turnovers", "Too many stupid mistakes!"
"Why can't we score in transition when we have the other team outnumbered on the fast break?" and the other like threads that were numerous during Steve's tenure, stay away?

I mean, seriously, can you all see that happening?

Does anyone really think that bringing Stevie Franchise back will make us a better team, let alone get us closer to a championship? The guy is one of many players that the light bulb just seems will never turn on in the head.

Bring back Stevie F, bring back Rudy T, bring back Calvin Murphy, cry for Mike James...sheeeeesh!! If any of you that echoes those sentiments ever decide to come back to the present, you'll meet someone named Reality Check. You guys probably haven't moved on from your ex-gf from HS...

If he could be had for cheap and wouldn't mind being third fiddle then sure why not. But from what we know of Francis, is he really the type of player that would be ok being a third option. I don't think his goal is to win a championship. He wants to be the star. Now if we could mobley back and play him at the two I would definitely be happy with that.

Francis didnt wanna leave houston and houston didnt want francis to leave, except for a few idiots. We traded him because we had a shot to get tmac, and because jvg was feuding with steve. Steve has played great at a "true" pg this year, cutting down on shots and passing more. He is maturing and doesnt need to be the number 1 scoring option, as long as he wins. He is a winner, even though he hasnt done it much yet, but u take my word for it, he is a winner because thats all he cares about. I agree its not likely, but for all of you who say you wouldnt WANT him back, your idiots. Im sorry, but you just are. We're losing, we need a PG, and francis needs a new home. Don't hate on me for dreaming.

Explain why he's playing second fiddle to Jameer Nelson plz. In Orlando its Howard > Nelson > Francis.

because nelson is about equal steve, plus hes younger. orlando isnt about winning now, they want to set their roster for years to come, and nelson is the real deal. i coulda told you that before he went to st johns. i would rather bring him back to htown than francis, but that wont happen, francis is on the block becuase jameer is that shiznit. next question?

The most surprising thing of this thread isnt the stevie bashing, i expected that, but mobley over steve? come on yall, was i the only one watching when STEVE would get us close in a game, and mobley would dribble dribble dribble brick, dribble dribble dribble turnover, dribble dribble dribble shot clock violation? Did you forget? Did you forget the love steve showed houston, even after being traded in an article in slam magazine? I understand yall making fun of me for "bringing up the past", but MOBLEY OVER STEVIE? ARE YOU SH*TTING ME? I apologize for proposing this "far fetched" trade scenario, but with francis on the block and houston needing a spark of some kind, you cant blame a brotha for dreaming.

Why would you want Francis when we have Alston who is a better point guard? Higher assists, less turnovers. Steve can score better and is more athletic, but he needs to hog the ball to be effective. Why would we want to put up with him again when we're lucky someone even took him off our hands?
