Youngest team in the league Proven threat to any team in the league Literally didn't even have a year of chemistry amongst our core players Having too much talent in the back court is a good thing Harden will grow even more as a leader, keep in mind this was his first season as The Man, and I'd say he far exceeded expectations Lots of salary cap space to make a big move in the off-season
Well said . . . the logical me says, Game 6 is gravy for this season already. From where we are at the start of the season (SL/pre-Season included). But the emotional me says we can make it to the Finals. See you next season. Be visiting CF for trades/rumors. I will avoid Lin/Harden/McHale bashing threads
We only have a case for the brightest future if we get CP3 or Howard to sign here. Otherwise, I can list a bunch of other teams with more potential.
We've got some nice pieces, but this series just goes to show how incredibly far the Rockets have to go. The Thunder have such an embarrassment of talent that they have the luxury of bringing a guy like Kevin Martin off the bench. On our team, only Harden could even hope to start for them, and he didn't! Worse, the Thunder are just as young as the Rockets are. They ain't going anywhere. This season was a really fun one, and they certainly exceeded my expectations (barely). But we aren't close. We're still years and a few miracles away from even getting homecourt advantage in the playoffs, let alone becoming a contender. There's plenty of hope, though. Which is great, because there's precisely nothing we fans can do about it but watch and hope. And post endlessly on Clutchfans, natch.
Good thread. The Rockets not only made the playoffs, they made everyone notice. What a series. What a season. Could not have been better except in a dream. Harden, Parson, Asik, Beverly, Delfino, Garcia all exceeded expectations. Lin had a pretty good year, too. We still have the young prospects, Jones, Montejeunas, Robinson and cap space. We now have a young perennial playoff team that should reasonably be a contender in another season or two and with some luck will challenge the Thumder year after year in the West.

Harden needs to get rid of this playing for foul calls out of his game. It leads to many stupid turnover, and bad shots when the refs don't call it. And he needs to improve his man defense a lot. I doubt he will ever become an elite defender. He can at least become a good-great defender through effort and improving defensive fundamentals.
Well, both their superstar and #1 pick got injured, just like us. If Harden breaks his leg, we are no good either. Same thing with Durant, Lebron and whoever that will get injured.
Well, let's hope our Brandon Roy doesn't get hurt, then. Things just got screwed up for them, but people weren't far off with their predictions because they really did seem to have a bright future. Also, Greg Oden.
I made some bold predictions pre-season. - 45+ wins - One of the highest scoring teams in the league (3rd game into the season) For the next season. If we keep the same core of Asik, Harden, Parsons, and Lin as our starters, AND upgrade our PF via FA (Smoove or Millsap): - 55+ wins (+5 for the improved chemistry and experience, +5 for upgrade) Yes indeed, the future looks bright for the Rockets! BTW, we can do away with some of the fans in GARM.
Absolutely a great year and next year will be even better, what a great time to be a Houston Rockets fan.
A wonderful time indeed. But there will be some big shakeups in the roster over the next year, of this there is zero doubt. Some of the deadweight will have to be cut loose, or we will never fully rise to the surface.
