Did I miss something? Aren't celebs supposed to be rolemodels for others. Not entirely on the court but for the community. Unless you're being cynical.

He may be limping from a tough workout, and just sore, maybe there is another reason. The limp in itself isn't a big deal. It just depends the reason behind the limp. 3 weeks is plenty of time to get over a limp.

You guys are funny, I see plenty of athletes that don't take camera crews and put up websites to promote themselves.

Whatever, it is a pointless argument.....we will never agree about him.

The Tmac crew to the rescue, can't say anything or have any opinion about the man that might put him in a bad light...they will pounce......LOL

TMac has his own Men in Black squad - you know who you are.....

I am new here, but I think some of you guys will never "get it" irt Tmac. Physical talent alone, when healthy, I think Tmac is even better than Kobe. The main difference between the two has always come down with toughness. One has it, the other doesn't.

As long as we're being real, what the poster really said was that before his health issues, McGrady's weakness was lack of defense.

Celebs as role models? Surely, you jest. Paris Hiltons of the world unite!

P.S. When I get around to having my own little curtain-grabbers you are off the ClutchFans babysitting list, hehe.

well whoever that poster was, was dead wrong. You dont come into this league as a defensive specialist, and yet your weakness is a lack of defense

No one is saying he doesn't the defensive capabilities. His post-Toronto career has been pretty much exclusively focused on the offensive while giving minimal EFFORT on the defensive end. I don't think Tmac has any real basketball related weaknesses. He's an immensely talented player who can do it all on the court but he's seldom healthy and just goes through the motions defensively. The main difference between Tmac and Kobe is not basketball skill, rather it is health, toughness and dedication.

i will respect that, however even if his toughness and dedication may not be on par with kobe's that doesnt mean he doesnt have any.

    Dude - you're like T-mac enemy #1

I've never seen someone villify a Houston Rockets player on every single aspect more than you have.

    Personality (Heart, character, motivations)
    Physically (body, etc)
    Skills
    Style of Play

I mean, did the guy cost you a 10,000 dollar bet or something?

In my opinion his situation is holding the franchise back, the sooner he goes the sooner the org can move forward.

And, I ain't afraid to say it, no matter what the Tmac MIB squad have to say...lol

McGrady limps, grimaces, acts hurt, acts tough, and acts like he cares sometimes, heck he even quits when he feels like it. What else is new with that guy. Why can he still fool so many people into believing that he is worth anything as a player? I would think more than ten years as a loser and a drama queen would expose him for who he is already. Mama mia what a country!

Now that I think about it, Kobe's level of toughness and dedication is only matched by Jordan so its probably unfair to compare Tmac to him(though it would be awesome if he had that kind of work ethic, but that is borderline insane level of work ethic Kobe/Jordan had). Tracy sure does have some toughness and its showing as he wants to get back to his high level of play but I'm not sure he will put forth the effort on the defensive end since he's become uninterested on that end from the time he became an elite scorer.

I think everyone has a point where they say enough, some people have not reached that point or may never reach it.

The same thing happened with Francis, a lot of people could see he was just not going to be leading the team to a championship, and thought it was time to move on, while others wanted him to stay.

It is the same with Tmac......some of us want him to move on....others want him to stay......

The ones wanting Francis gone were right in the end, and I think a lot of them (including me) are seeing the same kinds of things with Tmac.....and think it is time for him to move on.....for the good of himself and the Rockets.

:) Ya. Fans do support every player. No matter what their names are. From the hard worker Chuck, the non stat allstar Shane to your has-been superstar McGrady. You should support them more instead of talking who's expendable because Ariza arrived. Believe in your team. At least that's what I think a fan is supposed to do. Analyzing is great but some guys sound like the players are commodities which they are but let Morey handle his job.
Our job is supporting the team players and less being cynical and hating on them.

This is interesting, and I think the crux of the matter, I don't look at it like that at all.

I support the organization over any player, and will jettison any player if it makes the organization better, or gets us closer to being a championship team.

So, if there is a player on the team that should go, then personally, I would like him gone......

Now, that being said, when he is on the floor, I am going to cheer for him as a Rocket, but that does not stop me from wanting the organization to do what I think is right and get rid of him.

I think you nailed it.......the crux of a lot of the discussion, it is all just a different way that fans look at the team etc.

    Good post.

Right on. A friend of mine told me a long time ago that you have better chances in making a less attractive woman look prettier than transforming a woman with a bad personality into a wholesome person. Because I was young and hornier at that time I didn't fully get the gist of it, but now I get it. :)

ps. Yes, the above is Tmac related. lol.

It is not the first time you made yourself clear that you want him gone. Do I say I want to keep him? At least I don't say that in all of my posts. I leave that to the executives. This is really annoying sometimes. All I am saying is wait until he's back and put forward some positive and constructive comments. Him having his homepage does not mean anything. There are players like Nash who are involved in the communities incl. the Web community. Some are twittering. I am standing up for somebody who cannot defend himself because he's injured. Somebody that said he will support the player as long he's a Rocket never stops taking a jab on him.

DD, I will go ahead and say it that Yao should be traded as well IF Morey could get a decent trade for him. I am VERY SKEPTIC that Yao's lower extremities injuries will somehow dissapear with the latest surgery. He is a very good player and even better person, but I think th 1-11 experiment has pretty much failed and run its course in Houston. I, for one, could not endure another Yao injury.

It is time for a change in direction. We have a good team to build on.
