Well isn't he a victim? He's like KG, he's never achieved success before 'cause he always played in lousy teams. The only difference is, KG broke down last season, while T'mac's been broken down for a few seasons now. You blast Tmac for throwing his teammates under the buss, but most people have no qualms about throwing him under the buss as well, even when he was helping Dorsey out he got hated on, and just because he put out the skillzlab pr stuff people called him a faker (nvm that every other superstar has this type of stuff). To Knote: get off your high horse and stop painting everyone on a good light and making T-mac to be the only bad guy here. Fact is, everyone is at fault-JVG for playing Yao so many mins, Yao for being fragile, Tmac for not having any heart and the role players for sucking. If you're gonna blame T-mac for our lack of playoff success, make sure you blame everyone else as well, because you do a checklist of people who contributed during the playoffs Tmac would probably be number 1. Shane and Rafer have covered for T-mac's weaknesses? Give me a freakin' break, except for last season wasn't it the other way around? IIRC the only "weakness" Tmac displayed before his health issues was his penchant for chucking heatchecks and lack of defense. Considering Rafer Alston chucked more 3's than Tmac and at a lower % how exactly can that be seen as "covering up" for him?
well let's be real, who can play defense on one leg? really, try limping out there. sure he could have tried harder, but he might have broken his own ankles trying to guard his man on one leg.
Were the Rockets ever elite from 2004-present? I don't think so. They weren't mediocre, and at times were very good, but with Yao there's not much flexibility in terms of style of play. They were by no means a dominant team.
Well in Rafers defense he was told to take those shots because he was open, just too bad for him he's a putrid shooter. So, in reality tmac was the actual chucker.
don't you mean with Tmac's contract and some really bad Contacts like Mo Taylor, hampered our ability to sign quality players? To folks about his playoff performance. Tracy was wonderful 1-3rd quarter, too bad he isn't Kobe in the 4th quarter. When we need the buckets in the 4th quarter, Tracy is too tired because 1-3rd he is too busy trying to do everything. My 2 cents on his failure in the playoffs.
IMO Tracy's main weaknesses has always been a lack of mental toughness. When the team is cruising, he is launching 3 pointers from the parking lot which actually go in, because he is capable of making them and because he is confident in his abilities. OTOH, if the team starts trailing the other team badly, he will mail it in, just the opposite of a winner's mentality. Ever wonder why guys like Hakeem, Duncan, Kobe, etc... were/are so successful? They play hard all the time whether their team is ahead by 20 or trailing by 20. Tracy just doesn't that kind of toughness to be successful in the playoffs.
Exactly.....and to top it off, he seems more interested in being a celebrity than winning basketball games. DD
I myself heard it last year when he was not playing. He said if you put him around guys like Duncan or Kobe he would have won a championship.
He was frustrated. Said never played with a potential HOF player like Garnett, Shaq..... Yao being injured.... Although I dun think he meant to throw anybody under the bus. He stated with a Lakers and Celtics team he would have won a title. Any potential allstar would have. Take it easy, knote.
He as a tattletale actually made the mistake to add the following sentence which was controversial I suppose But he said he's working towards his goal and that he's not a quitter.
tracy is right (he would win with those guys). but it's stupid and egotistical for him to say so and he should deserves backlash for that. but it's ridiculous for people on here to say he's selfish/egotistical... ALL stars are. hell, paul pierce proclaims he's the best basketball player on the planet after the championship. but no one cares b/c he WON. tracy shouldn't yap anymore (and he hasn't in a while so that's good) until he does something with his career. everyone knows when he was healthy, he was a great player, and probably still is (we will have to see). but let's keep that mouth shut and just play. i do think he has changed though. he knows this surgery will limit his athleticism... so hopefully he will use his court vision/passing/post game more to use.
Couldn't agree more. My wish that posters here should do the same is probably never going to come true.
it's unfortunate one bad year last year could possibly ruin his entire rocket career to some. they tend to forget that for years, without talent, he was asked to do more than humanly could at times, DESPITE injuries. despite the notion that he can't play hurt, he has played through injuries for an entire season at times (and don't forget he has tried to come back early from his injuries many times too). and when he was healthy, he was everything we asked of him (outside of the playoff wins).
I know! I mean, what the heck - all those Nike commercials he's putting out, appearances on TNT during the playoffs chatting it up with Sir Charles, the Tracey McGrady Steakhouse, his tv show on MTV, oh, and let's not forget his new rap video. Not to mention appearing in the ring with Oscar De La Hoya. The guy needs to stop trying to be a celeb and more on being a basketball player! We all know that skillzlab stuff was really to help launch his new better basketball video titled, "The Read and React to Me Offense" Yeah, we know T-mac, we know the Skill Labz video, the trips to Darfur, all those summer camps with kids and youth clinics - all that is all about you trying to be a celeb like P Diddy. What a selfish jerk!
