You say t-mac didn't need microfracture....but here's a source that you seemed to think was true that says Rocket's team doctors said he needed it: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=162592 The surgery was a success, it has a 75-80% chance of returning athletes back to form, and the doctors said the cartlidge looked good and he should make a full recovery. This was reported in the Chronicle back in Feb/Mar but i can't find the article. Ric Buhler is just an announcer - not a trainer, not a doctor. And Joey Dorsey said T-mac looked great. So I think you are reaching with those as your evidence. Again, you can't wait and see can you? The dude was hurt. He had a bad year last year and didn't play with heart and was mentally broken down. But he did what he had to do - which was to fix his knee and hire the person to help him get back. he's a Rocket, like it or not. And you trying to push this idea that he just needs to go isn't a positive contribution. Criticize is one thing, but you have a full blown anti-T-mac campaign here. When will you just watch the guy play?
You really don't believe half the things you say, do you? One thing I can say, you do have a following on this board. You say anything that comes out of your mouth and if a person is guiliable enough, they will believe it. Sort of like Rush Limbaugh.
We all know that TMac is a far superior offensive player than Ariza, but that doesn't mean his positive overall impact on the Rockets is that much greater. On offense, the Rockets is an entirely different team with TMac on the court. The ball/player movement will be much limited, everyone will basically stand around and watch Tracy do his thing. TMac doesn't move the ball, nor he move without ball. Yes, he can pass better, has better offensive game, but the team offense suffers due to his dominance of the ball. The 2nd part is the shooting, at the stage of TMac's career, he is not close to Ariza as a shooter, so I don't know where did you get the stats that TMac has a "better percentages". Then, there is the defense, and we all know how much impact Ariza gives the Rockets, compare to Tracy. I like TMac, but let's not to over estimate his impact on the team over Ariza.
It doesn't matter. When its all said and done, you will need a player who can put the ball on the floor and not only create for himself but others. We are clearly lacking that right now.
He's untradeable b/c the Rockets would have to take back 20 mil or so in salary. There's no way Morey is going to do that.
I said last year, and repeat here, I hope we've seen the last of T-Mac in a Rockets uniform. The way he went about his business really turned me off. I don't mean to offend his fans; but, sorry, I'm done with him. I love the hustle and heart of this year's Rockets. Sure, Ariza is no T-Mac-in-his-prime, and Ariza drives me nuts with some of his turnovers. But Ariza is young, gifted, running the floor, and--best of all--humble.
Exactly how I feel. I think it is do-able, but whether they do it is another matter, like they could take back 10 million in expirings and another 10 million with a few years running. DD
McGrady is not part of the future of this team. Even in your best case scenario, the Rockets get out of the first round with him. At what cost? Budinger will not see the court in that scenario. That is not something I'm willing to sacrifice. Again, that's your BEST-CASE scenario. This team is over-achieving right now by playing a style that is the opposite of what McGrady thrives at. There's no guarantee that adding him to the mix, even if he's healthy, will improve the team. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective. He's not willing to push the ball or run, or take the ball to the hole and draw contact. Do you dispute those assertions? This team is excelling by moving the ball, running, and being unpredictable. Forcing them to play McGrady-ball doesn't necessarily make things better. McGrady is in his 13th season. Your dream is to have him come back this year, lead the Rockets to the second round (something that's never happened), and then re-sign with them next year. Then, in his 14th season, your expectation is what exactly? For an injury-prone McGrady to team with an injury-prone Yao and lead the Rockets to a title in his 14th season? After never winning a playoff series? You're willing to pin your hopes on that? Do you think Morey is that naive?
Repped ! I understand fans liking the guy and his talent, but I don't understand them missing the context of what Morey is trying to do, which is build a championship team. If there is anything people here should realize is that Tmac...and Yao, are injury prone and can not be relied on as foundations of a team, if you are going to risk $$$$ on one of them, then one has to go. And since Yao is the money train, the odd man out is.....Tmac. It is elementary, my dear Watson ! DD
Yes I do, and I also understand team dynamics, asset management, and the importance of chemistry and playing hard. I also understand how one guy can screw up the delicate balance of what the team is doing right now, just one guy coming in and not putting forth maximum effort (let's say on D) can hurt the overall club. Yes, I understand it quite well, the question is...do you? DD
You do understand that Tracy was NEVER 100 percent healthy under Rick the Ruler don't cha? Why not give him a last chance? Did he take your wife away? Hell No.
so you're expecting tracy to limp when he returns? until last year, when has tracy "hurt" us on defense or the team when he is on the floor? i WILL agree with you that he will hurt the team if he continues to L-I-M-P. a healthy tracy mcgrady can only help a team, if you actually look at his skillset and what he can offer adelman and his offense (high post, going through screens, low post, a passer who can overlook the entire halfcourt and look for cutters...). you also need to get over the fact that tracy mgrady does NOT have to run to help this team. GET OVER IT. you do know a guy triggering a fastbreak with a rebound or through a pass, which tracy can do just fine, is also just as good right. but again, the tracy mcgrady you're describing is a guy that limps, sulks over his injury, and can't even dunk a basketball. if that's the guy who is returning to the floor next month, then yes, see ya.
And? He may never be 100% again. The point is not about his health it is his PLAY style and lackidasical attitude. AND HE QUIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE LAID DOWN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Winners do not quit. Um, yeah, fairly weak response when losing an argument. DD
This is barely an argument when 90 percent of your posts says he is an selfish primadonna player who can't run and shoot overlooking he is the best dribbler. Furthermore you stomp somebody who is injured and that injury ties him down to do anything against your comments.
so much speculation... lets just wait till he comes back. Nobodys argument has anything to back it up.
