Great videos! I think he's well on his way back. Looking at how he's shooting from almost 35-40 ft out is a GREAT sign! You dont make shots from that far out without using your legs. I rmr after my knee surgery last July (in 2008), i wasnt able to shoot a 3-pt shot comfortably till about this past August (2009) (and this is college range). Mac looks pretty comfortable shooting those shots. I'm sure after a couple weeks of intense practices, he'll be able to elevate much better on those shots.
he still got that mad handle damn it only thing he needs to improve on his shot consistency other than things look smooth for t right now
I am not ragging on you here, but noone knows how TMac will play when he's completely healthy. His injuries have been so varied that it's difficult to guess how he'll even attempt to play now. I beieve he could be great, but not in the way he once was. But there's not a trainer, a coach, a GM, an owner or anyone here that can know how good/bad he'll be now.
some idiots on this board. Do you see the way Kobe pulls in the defense when he takes it to the hole? Do you see how he finds the open man when this happens (usually more than 1 open man)? OR- he gets the foul and goes to the line OR he makes the shot and goes to the line for a 3 point play. This is exactly what Tracy does when he is playing his best ball. We don't have anyone like that on the roster and as the season heats up, our current players will find it harder to score (most of our shooters are streaky anyway). We'll need McGrady and we'll need him bad. McGrady = more open shots and... he's not a bad rebounder either and we can always use more of that.
what we need is tracy OR someone who can adequately replace his production. we don't have that right now. but we might if he does get traded (hopefully he'll play so well teams will offer more). also in those vids, players don't try hard during shootarounds. tracy was taking it easy. therefore, we won't really know how he truly will be until he has some intense practices under his belt.
Great update, thanks. Nice work. Asd for Tracy, you really cannot tell much from that video. He is just shooting jumpers. The thing I noticed, though is that he jumps pretty high while attempting those shots. I remember in his earlier videos from the skillzlab, he really had no arch on those shots. Now it looks good, he looks comfortable. But yeah, you we just cannot say if he is healthly or not because you can always shot jumpers (Yao is even doing that from a chair) Btw, his body looks to be in great shape. He is pretty skinny.
His exam is Nov 23, so we'll have played another 9 games (14 games total) at that point. Hopefully we can continue to see these sort of clips; it may not tell us much but it's exciting to see him out there
he's not going to come back on the 23rd. that MRI is used to see if his knee is still progressing fine. if the MRI shows nothing (which is good), then he'll participate in the practices (all of them, not just spurts). 2-3 more weeks after 11/23 is when he'll come back i believe (mid to late december)
I don't see any bend on his knees... looks awkward spinning because he isn't putting any weight on his knee's.
You know... i think T-Mac is probably near coming back. He's probably 80-90% now but the only reason isnt participating in full practices is because mgmt does not wanna push him right away. I'm sure they're monitoring his progress during his rehab sessions and he's always looking like he's out on the court early to get some shots up. He also seems right mentally. We know how T-Mac acts when his mind isnt in the game, but seeing him travel with the team, involved in timeouts and being the highest paid cheerleader shows that he really is committed to coming back and showing his teammates that they can trust him.
He must have been bored because #1. why the hell was he shooting so deep behind the 3point line and #2 why was he shooting rainbow jumpshots when in the corner. LOL he is ready to play

if this was like pre game most of the time most players are just loosening up shooting whatever shots its not like he could have practiced posting up and driving with all the other guys on the court. he looks to be ready enough IMO but the MRI should be the tell all in 2 weeks. I dont know I am a bit excited to see him back...he annoyed the hell outta me last year (still havent forgiven him for that) but there is no denying he brings to the table some of the biggest things the Rockets need. Hopefully he buys into the same mentality as the rest of the team if he does the team will be so much fun to watch (still wont be championship caliber but playoff worthy yes) And if he doesnt work out he could be traded for better piece(s) for the next season. Right now the Rockets are in a pretty good situation with Tmac IMO.
