ah cmon DD.. dont tell me he did not try.. last year.. he screwed up the team and played with the organization... i hated that.. but the year before that.. i thought he was pretty good.. and I am not telling you that Mcgrady carried the team in 07-08.. he contributed.. a lot..
If the repair to T Mac is succesfull then I will expect to have T mac back on the court with no problem about getting up and down the court. T Mac will only be alowed back on the team when he agrees to play the team game. There will be very few adjustments to accommodate the old T Mac. However when Yao gets back there will be less mins for him and during his playing time the team will adjust.
I think the Rockets brass are going to give Yao and Mac one more year together. next year will be their chance, if they can't stay healthy, and can't win with this line-up - expect big changes after that. But I think Les/Morey also still covet what T-mac brings to the table and are hesitant to move T-mac for role-players. Our team has Role players. When Yao returns, we have a star big man. The only piece we miss is a playmaker for situations when Defenses are able to tighten up on a team as in the playoffs. In that situation, there are a few guys in the league who can break down a pressure defense like that. T-mac is still one of those guys. That's why he is still a Rocket.
This is why I say once tracy comes back, shane is gone. Ariza is the young free agent, tracy is the best player, and chase is the up and comer. If ariza commands 35mins and Tracy 32, that leaves 29 mins. Those minutes would be best served going to chase and his development for the next 3 yrs, then tracy leaves or retires and chase starts at the 2. Just like Adelman did with corliss and peja, I think it would be better served trading shane for a expiring like camby or even a guy like Raja Bell who you can flip again. Just my thoughts.
You can't be serious. The reason he's still a Rocket is no team can or wants to give the Rockets 22 million dollars worth of stuff they want for him.
I don't exactly remember. Something about McGrady organizing small 'slam dunk contest'. He said Tracy looked good. But it was a long time ago.
tracy still has a lot of explosion (not as much as in his prime) but still be able to dunk... like DD said, i think he still has trust issues with the knee when he plays with OTHER players on the court and is afraid of re-injuring it. hopefully when the MRI clears him on 11/23, he gets to participate on full practices and hopefully he'll get that confidence. others have said, he still looks great right now when he's in brief practicies. but that can only mean he can only way better when he gets that confidence back.
Even Bullard once mentioned that 'Tracy had nice dunks' during scrimmages. And btw, is Aldridge a realiable source? Do you remember him writing a story about Yao and McGrady, how they don't like each other. It all ended up being a complete BS. So I wouldn't be so sure about that one.
I wouldn't be sure about that... As the old proverb says, there's no smoke without fire. And on a team that has a new captain each year, I wouldn't doubt some locker room issues...
You can be pretty dried, but I fully agree with everything you said. The team should move on without TMac, and perhaps Yao, as I don't see how Yao would fit either. Bosh however....
Sure, you are right. But he reported that they didn't even talk to each other... Those guys always like to make something out of nothing. People like it.
I agree with you here, even though I love Shane. If moving him for an expiring gives us a shot at D-Wade, Bosh or Johnson in the off season, you have to do it. I just wonder if Morey still values him too much to move him.
DA is a fairly reliable source, unlike bucher. however, these guys dont' have direct access so they can only report what they "hear" from other people. his practices are like 2 minutes long. again, wait till 11/23. when he's cleared for full practices, we'll get a better picture of what type of players he'll be when he returns. 2 minutes can only tell you if his knee is giving him problems and if he's moving fine.
T-mac1...I'm curious to know what your definition of "making his teammates better" is. You and others say this a lot but there's really never an explanation. Is it the assists?
Isn't McGrady still a Rocket because he opted for surgery upon hearing he was going to be traded for his cousin who was playing for the Nets at that time?
