That's just clutchfans.net. they latch on to one bad possession and then make up their minds on a player. Weber was fine on defense and didn't look terrible out there.
yep this is basically just his second nba game in a rockets uni/mda system mda should have developed this guy little by little since he was here instead of playing garbage mamba
Will take some time but he will be a rotation player eventually. Would be wise to develop his shot - we're the kind of team that constantly needs rotation players for little $$$. Could become serviceable as early as next season.
The Rockets have 4-5 wasted roster space right now. The reality is that the Rockets are likely not going to be internally developing more than 1 or two players this year and it is very unlikely any of them will get many minutes this season. The Rockets need rotation players NOW. The issue will likely be addressed through trade and a buyout. The Warriors and Spurs have had the luxury of having primary pieces in place for years and could slowly develop players internally to contribute. The Rockets have changed their coach, philosophy and players quite a bit. That makes it difficult to to develop players. The Rockets will likely hold on to someone that wont contribute much now, with the hope they do next year. However, it is even more difficult with D'Antoni because there are some players that he loves and gets production out of that other coaches don't, but there are also some players that he doesn't even give a shot to (Robinson, Beasley). Skill set is part of the equation, but it isn't all of it...... some people D'Antoni just doesn't trust and never will, even if their skill set seems a perfect fit.
He won't be a rotation player eventually. He's just biding time until Chris Paul comes back, then he'll go right back to the bench. D'Antoni has no interest in filling out a rotation beyond 7-8 guys.
People are just grumbling because the Rockets are losing and lack depth. I don't expect him to be a contributor much this season, but I wouldn't be shocked if he is a rotation player next year.
Not necessarily. He has never gone 11-12 deep, but he has had some teams where he went 9-11 deep. Even last year he went 10 deep. I don't think we will ever see him doing what Pop does and go a dozen deep. However if the Rockets add two rotation caliber players, he would play them.
I think he needs to if he wants to compete with Kerr/GSW and Pops/Spurs people who are grumbling about Webber, what do they want? Morey make a move now and get a legit 4th guard (temp or perm) MDA use Brown or Jackson instead Just wait til Cp3's back and let MDA run Harden and Ego to the ground
I like the guy, he hustles and yes, he's scared to drive to the basket. he's got the physical tools to be a good penetrator. defensively he can chase Curry to hell with a nothing to lose attitude.
I don't think that D'Antoni has confidence in any of the guys outside of the top 10. I strongly suspect the Rockets will struggle without Paul and Capela and D'Antoni will have no choice but to play Weber. As for Morey, I can tell you that D'Antoni wants a trade, he wants to go deeper than he has. The issue is that Morey needs to find a player that is not making much money, is available in trade and is worthy of minutes. A lot of teams are not writing off the season yet and the trade season hasn't heated up. So there are really limited options. The trade deadline is 6 weeks away.
How good was Beverley's offensive game when we first signed him? I honestly don't remember. I love what Weber brings -- basically, what Harden, Gordon, and Brown don't bring enough of -- and would love to believe he has upside on offense.
just like Bev whose more D than O, he fits good with Harden. MDA should try starting Webber, the sub him out for Ego if the Rockets can't keep up
he shot 37 percent from 3, and only 35 percent, when not a corner 3, which he greatly improved over the years. he was coming off the bench for Lin, and basically only shot the ball when he had to. http://nbasavant.com/player.php?ddlYear=2012&ddlShotMade=&ddlTeamDefense=&player_id=201976
Not that I am aware of. If the Rockets thought there was I am sure they would bring them on. The Rockets are looking at guys like: Andrew Bogut, Isiah Whitehead, Jerian Grant, Marqeese Speights, Luke Babbitt, Devin Harris, Tyreke Evans, Mario Chalmers, Frank Mason III, Troy Daniels, Ekpe Udoh and Thabo Sefolosha. All of those guys make limited funds, but the Rockets would likely need to add a draft pick and find a willing trade partner. Obviously Tyreke Evans is the gem in that group, but there will be a lot of contenders that will want him because of his low salary. It would likely cost a 1st rounder and more to get Evans from Memphis.
Yup. Every time I look at the bottom of the roster I am horrified. I know WHY it is that way, but it needs to be fixed.
