I saw the video online a few days ago, and when he said that, the pictures didn't reflect what he was describing. They sort of zoomed in on a minor piece of damage on the helicopter, so it didn't really jive. Sounded like a convenient lie to make it sound "better", but doesn't seem like it would make sense to say it based on the imaging they were showing in the video (just too blatantly not in sync) and based on apparently what someone else is citing in 2007 as a different story already reported/written.
Driving to work today, I was flipping through the AM radio and caught a right wingnut talk show (but they have traffic on the 2s which was my interest). The right wingnut talk show host does not believe in evolution, immunizations, global warming, etc, but thinks Brian Williams should be fired for "not telling the American public the truth". This is truly much ado about nothing. What I do care about is that BW has a hot daughter:
I used to watch it fairly often when I got home before 5:30 / was able to watch it. Williams does lose some credibility to me. If his ratings dip I could see NBC getting rid of him.
Brian Williams won't lose his job. My guess is that this whole thing blows over in a week or so. BW made a poor decision, sure, but ultimately...most of the public doesn't care. NBC's competitors are of course making a big deal out of this (duh). The network news shows (all of them) are becoming less and less relevant anyway.
Huh she had been the only girl who hasn't been naked on that show so far. Even in her couple of sex scenes you hardly ever see anything. That's hardcore
Was that helicoptor really an escort if William's chopper didn't arrive until 30 minutes to an hour later? Sounds more like they were just all headed to the same place.
No, what apparently happened was that they were in a group and were all taking small arms fire. The lead got hit with an RPG. The one Brian Williams was in diverted to drop its payload and then met up at the same spot 30 minutes to an hour after the rest arrived.
Haha, that would be awesome if he just embraced this and started trolling everybody with a segment of each newscast where he regales us with tales of valor. Like, blatant and clear lies that could easily be refuted, but he doesn't give a ****. I'd watch that.
Damn! Is that a series or a movie? Inquiring minds want to know. You are braver than I am, sir. I wouldn't have the nerve to post that here. I think this will cost Williams his job. I enjoyed his newscast the times I watched it and he seemed like a very nice guy, but this is too much to survive, nor should he.
ehh...not seeing whats the big deal if he simply misremembered it. I'm 38 and I can't remember what color shirt I wore yesterday. Mistakes happen, no need for a media frenzy everytime someone effs up
I don't watch the show but I would be interested in the context of how the salad tossing was relevant to the plot. A short explanation would be appreciated. ( I watched some the first year but found all the characters annoying)
I was gonna attack Williams and call him such vile names like: liar, dbag, pondscum, libtard, Obama lover until I saw his hot daughter so nevemind...carry on.
