I’m glad a professional basketball player says what I’ve always said. LBJ is a terrible defender..those chase down blocks are flashy and that’s about it...oh and he’s a terrible shooter...he is strong, athletic and has great court vision but only will run an offense he is ball dominant in... I’m so glad we are going to win the Championship this year so LBJ can stay far away from our team...could you imagine Kobe or MJ in LBJ’s body???

He has irrational hate. I’m not the biggest Russ fan but cowherd makes up irrational arguments to bash the guy.

Like how 102% percent of the teams win 100% of the time.

jk. Figure it is a rounding error.

They should ask Brain Scalbrine about who won the biggest DNP of the year not the freaking MVP award

Ah yes, the Cavs defense was so poor because they were missing those lockdown defenders Kevin Love and Isaiah Thomas.

Guys are making up all these irrelevant arguments to give Harden the MVP. The only thing that really needs to be stated is that the Cavaliers have had ZERO team success this season. They finished 4th in the weak eastern conference. They most likely would have been a lottery team in the West, as evidenced by their 15-15 record. They have a worse record than the upstart 76ers.

I repeat, there is absolutely no positive MVP ammunition Lebron worshipers can derive from the 2nd best player of all time being on a team that is the 8th-13th best in the league.

When confronted with the 35+ year requirement of an MVP winner being on good team, a lot of these people cling to quotes like "look at what he's been able to do with that team", or "he has put that team on his back." These arguments are DOA.

    More acceptable Quotes:
    • "Look at what unimpressive, entirely mediocre results he's been able to achieve with that team."
    • "He has put that team on his back and didn't have any notable success doing it."
Once it is clear to everyone that the most important thing in the NBA (wins) is not something Lebron can claim as evidence of an MVP caliber season, then the entire argument is based on empty stats. There is really nothing else to be said, so I don't know why all these folks are resorting to minutiae like comparing their defense for god's sake! LOL.

NOTE: this exact same argument could and should have been used last year in Harden's favor, but I digress

    Agreed
this whole TOTALS argument is so transparent
Where was that three years ago?

I hate how the voters have their minds made up on day one
and then look at the season to justify it
Unless THEIR GUY totally screws the pooch (or misses like Kawhi)
Who they think in the beginning is who they vote in the end

Westbrook averaged another triple double season. He MUST win it.
