Man, if the rockets had the opportunity to make that trade and they didn't do it I would be one pissed off MoFo.

Ditto. I thought that was some major wishful thinking by many of us. Have you heard from somewhere that there was really something to it, Sherlock? That would be major news, imo. And something that should have happened.

The search function doesn't work (I HATE that), so I can't go look up the various posts associated with the possible Brand deal to give quality verification of what I said earlier. But, as I recall, oeilpere mentioned it (forgive me buddy, if I'm wrong on that one), Yao mentioned something about it in one of his private translated interviews, it was referred to in a media source or two, and I thought someone else, like Rocket Rich NYC (don't mean to take your name in vain, if you didn't), mentioned something about it.

Unfortunately, my exact memory is hazy, and I have no way to do research on the BBS to confirm what we heard. ESPN Radio mentioned the trade rumor on 2/4/03. But, I do remember there were credible sources that referred to a deal for Brand, which includeed Mobely and Griffin, but that LAC turned it down at the last minute.

My frustration in that deal, was that I wished we would have done what it took to sweeten the pot for LAC, so they WOULD have done it, since they were seriously considering it. Sometimes, it has seemed we were very close to certain deals, and didn't pull them off, because we got too stingy. Dawson is an incredible trader, and pulls off amazing deals that noone thought possible, but sometimes I fear we don't get some deals that ARE possible.

Bingo!! IMO, The Rox are a little experience away from being a contender. There is no reason to panic and start shipping people off for bad contracts.

All of the pieces are in Rox uniforms right now. The maturity & familiarity isn't there but by this time next year this team will have turned a 180 and be fighting for the #3 seed, instead of #8.

Maybe a few tweaks would help, but blowing up parts of the core would only be detrimental.

Of course... I meant that last post only as it relates to BG. If Jkidd wants to play PG in Hou... that is a different story all together. :)
