Seriously, do some of you people even watch basketball?

When Phoenix signed him enough people (ESPN writers) were stupid enough to promote that he would give them toughness, rebounding, and defense that I guess someone will keep bringing him up. Somehow, despite losing Amare and Kurt Thomas for a while, he hardly played.

We have so many quality players who can actually contribute that its tough to figure out from our 15 and even tougher to figure out who will make the active 12 and tougher still to see who will make the rotation. Why on earth would we want to go pick up players that other teams are cutting!

Thats because the Suns offense is played at a million miles per hour. it's a hard system to play in if you're not quick or atheletic. grant i a babger. meat &Potato type player. i think 5 to 8 minutes a night here he would be ok.

I am disappointed that we didnt at least tried to pursue Cato

    Really liked the big fella

but I think we shouldnt add anyone until we play a few season games to see just what exactly do we need

Is it just me or are most of you guys Spurs and Mavs fans?? Why do you guys want us to get all these old, injured, washed up players who can produce little or nothing on either end of the floor. If I was Pop or Avery, I would be all for the Rockets getting Brian Grant.

We don't want to go back to old washed up players with health probs... we will be taking a step backward to last season if we did that.

Ditto , Very sad for Jay Williams, from fame to hitting rock bottom. He's damaged goods and does'nt have the explosiveness that he once had. At best , he's a third string guard in the NBA.

I guess picking Yao #1 over Jay Wiliams look pretty smart now ;)

Why should every single player waived by other team, must turn poster to (at least suggest) rockets to pursue them? Are they damn good enough that turn them waive by their team?

I always liked Grant`s tough nosed style of play and if he has anything left in his tank at all, he could be a real plus. Whether posters here like the idea of Grant or not, I think the responses to this thread illustrates to me the larger isssue and that is that the one piece the Rockets still lack and the one place where we could be most vulnerable is the absence of a big, bruisng banger at the 4...I am simply not convinced that there is not a need for the prototype power forward of old, even on this team, that would be in the mold of a Thorpe, Carr, Mason, Oakley...and yes...a Grant, or even a Cato. We need this kind of insurance more than a Padgett, whom I like, or a Jacobsen, whom I think is expendable. Sign Grant, or Cato, or trade Howard for the big banger!
