    1. Sun. 12 COLTS 12:00 PM
    2. Sun. 19 @ Redskins 3:15 PM
    3. Sun . 26 COWBOYS 12:00 PM
    4. Sun . 3 @ Raiders 3:05 PM

    These are the 4 Games.

Colts - Linebackers are key against Dallas Clark and Addai out of the backfield. As long Payton has the ability to dump off to them for positive yards [even if it is only 1 or 2] The Colts can churn down the field and negate the pass rush some. Difficult but not impossible to win this game.

Redskins - formerly the Deadskins - the New Look Redskins, I have no idea what they will be like. I expect a win here but I could be wrong.

Cowgirls - WIN! Why? I dunno just hate the cowboys. I think Romo can be rattled. Dunno what the running game will be like.

Raiders - New look Raiders - Jason Campbell may be a difference maker here. Now that JaMarcus the Hutt is gone this is not a clear win either. Still I give them the edge.

The Texans should start 3-1 . . but 2-2 at worse IMO

    I agree completely.

I'd be thrilled with 4-0 (definitely possible). Happy with 3-0. Apathetic with 2-2. Distraught with anything less.

I agree with this, like you said i really don't know what to expect out of the redskins. But if we are going to be a contender we should end up with a 3-1 record through the first 4 games. The texans must have a GREAT start this year and build off of that. The texans cannot have a slow start, with the schedule that we have this year. But i believe in this team, come on TEXANS.

Messers McNair & Cushing: Where's the evidence?
It's been two weeks since Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing and owner Bob McNair made bold claims about the innocence of the star player's positive steroid test. Medical evidence, they said, would exonerate Cushing.

At the time I called upon the player and the owner to share their evidence, hoping to help them demonstrate that Cushing had, indeed, played on a clean level.

Since then National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell has reviewed the evidence and decided to uphold his four-game suspension of Cushing, a standard penalty for an initial steroid violation.

So I ask again, two weeks later, let's see the evidence.

Why? Although there's no longer any hope to reduce his suspension, Cushing still has an opportunity to clear his name with local fans. And more importantly from my perspective, a chance to prove that he and McNair were not perverting science for their own gain.

    Let's review the issue.

On August 9, after meeting with Goodell, McNair said: "I had a meeting with the league's medical staff and presented additional medical information about Brian Cushing. The doctors will review the information and we'll hear from them at a later date."

The operative term there is "medical information." And what is that information? It's supposedly medical evidence that shows Cushing tested positive for hCG, sometimes used as a masking agent for steroids, because of "overtrained athlete syndrome."

Last week I asked Texans media representative Kevin Cooper when we might expect McNair to share the medical information he presented to the NFL commissioner. His response:

Due to doctor/patient confidentiality, I can not release Brian's medical information. You are going to have to speak with Brian's representation to get an answer on his medical records.

At the time you may recall that Cushing said, "I had a unique situation where something like this occurred. We have, really, the science to back it up."

That's a pretty striking statement. It's striking because there's nothing in the medical literature to support the notion that intense workouts followed by an absence of working out can raise hCG levels. This would represent a significant medical discovery.

Cushing is represented by super agent Tom Condon, with CAA Sports, whom I attempted to contact on Friday. I am shocked to report back that I have not yet had a reply from Cushing's representation.

The way science works is: someone makes a claim, that claim is tested, and if the results are verified it becomes an accepted theory upon which further science can be conducted.

But it is not science if someone stands up and says, "Science proves I'm innocent" and then no evidence is presented. To stand up and make grand claims without intending to back them up is a perversion of science for one's own gain. Most people are smart enough to see through that.

So I'm going to call Cushing on it, as much as I might admire his hard-nosed play on the field. Let's have the evidence. Or at the very least, give it to an independent panel of medical professionals to evaluate and report upon.

McNair, at least, should know better as vice chair of Baylor College of Medicine's board of trustees. They do a bit of science research over there. And if McNair doesn't he should ask one of the McNair scholars.

I would be happy if we go 2-2 here without Cushing, but would not be surprised with 1-3.

Colts - Only have beaten these guys once...ever.
@Redskins - McNabb at QB and a new coach on the road. This is the game we have to win.
Cowboys - I don't see us winning here without Cushing.
@Raiders - We better win this one.
