That's what excites me the most about that duo. As good as they are now (and it's only been 6 games!), imagine what they're going to look like 6 games into NEXT season. I think this group of LBs we have, as they grow together, could turn out to be the premiere Linebacker corp in the NFL in a couple of seasons. Diles has been playing lights out along with DeMeco and Cushing, but nobody is mentioning him because of the stellar play of the other two. It just goes to show how deep that bunch actually is.

    LMAO!

Yeah this looks to be a great LB corps that could be great for years. Thats the exciting part about the talent we have, they're mostly young. I hope we can do something with them.

I was never high on Cushing. I will now gladly accept my plate of crow, and eat it, too. I would personally shake his hand and apologize if I could. Glad to see him doing well.

In other news, please re-sign Demeco ASAP.

Cushing is an absolute beast. It is going to be amazing watching him continue to grow. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite players.

Loving it so far but I hate to be the voice of dissension but... we've been down this road before in Houston sports.

It all boils down to potential which is fine but in the long run it doesn't mean as much.

We POTENTIALLY had the best young backcourt in the league with SF3 and Cat.
We POTENTIALLY had a championship contender with Yao and Tracey.
We POTENTIALLY had our big three in place with Carr, Dominic Davis and AJ.

    You get the point.

True, but seriously everytime I have seen Cushing in a Texans jersey, I have the theme from Last of the Mohicans in my head as running backs are getting slammed backwards or extremely hard to the ground...

Man, what's with the Texans and great finds at LBs? And why can't they do the same for their DLine or secondary!?

Well, forced fumbles and ints are probably the most stats sexier than sacks on defense.

I'd know, since the only times my Mario on Madden not make DPOW is when some linebacker gets Cushing's stat line. :p

Don't forget the poster children for "potential": Jason Lane and Daryle Ward.

    Right. And Chris Burke.

At any rate, I bet *every* franchise has plenty of "but he had so much 'potential'" stories.

I think it will be between Cushing and Jairus Byrd of the Bills. Dude already has 7 interceptions as a rookie, league-leading, including 2 in each of the last 3 games.

I hope Cushing takes it though.

He is going to make the Pro Bowl if he has one more game like that.
