If Cook sees the floor then things are either really great (big lead), or they are really bad (behind a LOT). Last night was a perfect storm of bad. Still, I was surprised Cook got any time in the first half. Seems a bit early to be conceding the game.
I have a sense that there is a 50% chance he'll play the same type of minutes in game 6... There are other combinations to play. You know what...if he's hitting his 3s then it might be ok to play him as we'd be trading 3s on offense to 2s on defense. The problem was that he wasn't hitting and was committing turnovers. It was like being the Knicks and going down with John Starks in game 7 of the '94 finals--it would have been so simple for Riley to put Hubert Davis in there for a better chance for NY. If a player doesn't have it, switch it up! On the other hand, maybe we were willing to concede the loss and save our strategies for game 6, but it may be wishful thinking...
