Wasn't Brian Cook shooting like 44 percent from the three point line this year. That will be an awesome weapon to have and I hope he gets some pt.
that's misleading, he's only made 11 three's and has only played garbage minutes. last year he made 43 and was 37%. he's not the offensive threat he was for one season in LA. magic's pf rotation this season in order lewis - battie - gortat .................................................................................... - cook
True, it's only 11 3's and he was buried on the bench but I wouldn't mind him or deke giving Yao spot minutes. He was brought to hit the 3, giving Yao a breather, wouldn't hurt if he can hold down the 5. I just don't want Yao to go down because of extended play on the floor (the entire 1st quarter in Indiana was ridiculous), knowing we had a FRESH deke/cook to sub for him. Yao does play all year, I wonder if Adelman takes that into account at times instead of looking past it with some of his decisions. Go Rockets!!!
looking on youtube, the only clips I can find of him are ones where is is getting dunked on... what type of player is he exactly?
I actually think Cook was brought in as more than just trade fodder. I think Adelman likes Cook's shooting touch, and will find ways to play him if he's in shape and ready.
LOL, you're basing your judgement on brian cook(the new comer). There is no problem with the rockets bench and no one really is complaining about being on the bench not even Ron Artest when he was not starting despite what the media says.
Really? That seems reasonable. Let's compare a guy who plays only garbage minutes for a team with one of the shortest benches in the league to a guy who started on championship teams. Sounds good. The only puzzle is why anyone would think this guy will do anything more than cheerlead.
no, he's terrible. think of it this way... if the magic, a team that lives and dies by 3's and loves having big men who can shoot from 3, didn't use him... then nobody would want to use him. He can't play defense, he's not nearly in the same shape as he was in LA, and he jacks up threes whether it's a good look or not. Look to him to be our new human victory cigar.
He might be a last roster guy but i don't think he will really amount to much on the team. From what I hear all he can do is just shoot which is awesome, but the jury the remains out on whether he can actually contribute good time on a deep bench like ours.
