Ben Sheet's ERA against the Good Guys is actually higher than his ERA against the rest of the league. He's had three starts against Houston - one gem, one blah start and one where we got to him a little. I'm riding the trend and the Astros getting to Sheets tonight.
Then, Clemens will HAVE to start at least one game on 3 days rest... whether it be against San Fransisco on Thursday, or the final regular season game of the season (against Colorado) if its neccesary. With current schedule, Clemens pitches: Sunday against Brewers 4 days rest Friday at Milwaukee 4 days rest Wednesday vs. St. Louis Season ends on Sunday... = three days rest from Wednesday's game. Considering that Sunday is a night game, I doubt Clemens would bounce back on three short days rest to pitch on Thursday... but you never know. If everybody stays on normal rest, Oswalt and Clemens start 7 of the final 15 games... not 8. Also, if they keep everybody on normal rest, then Clemens is on track to start game 1 of the playoffs.
C'mon Worrell... I know you'll never be a great baseball announcer, but at least say the guy's name right when he makes a great play. Its Raul CHA-vez, not cha-VEZ, who just made a great play at the plate with Branyon colliding into him.
I don't know if any of you had it on KLOL at 7 tonight but they played my 7 songs on "Cyber Sets at 7" I know I had a lot of people jamming in their cars.
You think Oswalt is really hurt or was that a ploy to get Lidge as many pitches to warm-up as he needs?
Lamb seems to hit when nobody else is hitting and it's been huge. He's almost single handedly won 4 games down the stretch. Lidge is god.
A little of both... he's probably in a little pain at the end of every game he goes 7-8 innings... Lamb is having the type of year that Ensberg had last year (hitting when nobody else is hitting)... but Lamb is doing it throughout the SECOND half, whereas Ensberg dissapeared after the ASG last year. Lidge is "lights out"... but the last game he had to do the two inning thing, he faltered in the 9th... that was also a Oswalt game in Pittsburgh. Here's to not repeating the same fate.... HOORAY not repeating...
I tell ya ...Bagwell might not be able to throw any more, but cutting off Berkman's throw was one of the best plays Ive seen this year. Awesome Baggy!!!!
Man... credit Kent and Lamb big-time on that play... Kent knew that Scotty Po was too fast for him, and he deked the 3rd base runner into trying to go home. and Lamb did a great job to catch that ball... and run and catch the runner. Great job... great game... at least we won't finish below .500 now!
