Yes, even though I don't like Favre, he's our best chance to make a deep run.

I'm stunned that so many folks are buying into Brett Favre talk.

-Favre is an ego-maniacal shortcut king that murdered the Vikings last year. He's been uncoachable for years and no longer has the ability to balance it out with his play.

-He has not played in this system, and has demonstrated an unwillingness to adjust his game since leaving the Packers.

-On the Vikings, he managed to take the ball out of Peterson's hands so he could keep chucking inefficiently. That's what you want on this team???

-Once more, he was AWFUL last year.

Let Leinart be a game manager for 6 games. Who knows, it's within the realm of possibility that Yates might surprise us and have something in the bag.

They'd be better off with Cody Carlson.

He's not that much older and would definitely have less wear and tear.

Don't think Kubiak would ever do that. This is the guy that stuck with David Carr when everyone knew he sucked. His ego thought he could make Carr good. Same Shanny mentality that thought any RB could produce, or any O lineman could step in and run his system.

If you want to win an SB, you shouldn't want Leinart. But I respect that - it's not always about winning.

Kubiak said David Carr was a NFL capable QB as well. We all know how that turned out.

It's become popular in the Kubiak bashing of the past two years to blame him for "believing in David Carr", but I don't quite buy that. When you look at Carr's career hierarchy, he really did seem on the right track after 2004 (his and the franchise's third season). Posted a QB rating in the mid 80s, the team won 7 games... everything seemed on an upward trajectory.

Unfortunately, everything hit rock bottom in 2005 - for Carr personally and the two-win team. It was the most brutal football I'd ever seen. Even so, it was one year. It was only one year before that things really looked encouraging, both on the Carr front and the overall direction of the team. Given all the money the team had invested in Carr and that he was the face of the franchise... I don't think Kubiak had a choice. Whoever the new coach was, Bob McNair (and we all know how conservative he is) wanted them to give Carr one last shot. And as the coach, Kubiak had to be the front man to the media.

Anyway, my point - I'm not sold that Kubiak believed in Carr. I think he was without a choice. I do think he believes in Leinart, and he's earned my trust on that side of the ball.

How many times did they draft an O lineman or RB in the first couple of rounds?
