If Barry retires, it means that we won't have to pay him and that means we save money, so I definitely hope he decides to move on. Though I can't see him leaving 3 mil on the table, even if he does not want to play anymore.
ANY free agent, Bonzi, Stromile. Artest is the only one who you can claim got the team over the hump. And some people even question that.
Mark Jackson was actually servicable and I wish we had Oakley for the Lakers series. He would have broken Kobe's face for what he did to Battier.
Mark Jackson played 42 games and started 3 games. He shot 34% from the field and 17% from 3pt land. He averaged 2.5pts 2.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 14 mins of play. You either A) have extremely low standards for a player being "serviceable". B) confusing Mark Jackson with someone else. OR C) go by the nickname JVG.
Maybe the Rockets can reach an agreement with him, where he can retire and they pay him a consultants fee to be assistant coach etc? DD
I was always under the impression that Steve Francis was the Alexanders idea. Do any of you remember for sure?
Like I said last off season, he shouldn't been signed. It was a waste of money and roster space. I watched barry in Sa and they tried to get rid of him every chance they had. He isn't strong enough to guard sf and not quick enough for sg. They knew they needed to upgrade and they signed Mason jr. We needed to get a guy who can play good minutes with size and upgrade and we signed barry. Its one thing if he was signed for the vets minimum at the end of the summer, but he was more like a priority.Didn't understand it.
My wish would be for BB to come to camp fired up and in shape. His shot was a little flat and rushed last year, like he didn't have his legs. You could always tell if it was going in by its early trajectory. Maybe it was nagging injury pain that he no longer has. If he feels like he can run a bit this year, then he could still be useful. If not, I hope he'll consider DaDakota's idea, and discuss it with Adelman, Morey, and Les. He'll make a fine coach.
And playing b-ball in the NBA is relevant to your skills as a GM how? MJ, Larry Bird, Isaiah Thomas, Kevin Mchale, Joe Dumars and Steve Kerr have all played professional ball and yet as GMs they leave a lot to be desired.
Sure he played like crap, but we needed a vet around and he played a huge role in ABs development last season. Not a total dud IMO.
