Miller ha a bad year, but probably a bad fit for the Cavs. Imagine all the open lokos he would get with either Harden or Lawson handling the ball. As a pure spot up shooter, he could be valuable to us situationally. (Kind of like C-Villanueva?)
No way Mike Miller answers any of Lebron's phone calls or ever gets duped into teaming up ever again. Let's just hope. LOL
I get the feeling that while teams might be real competitive about trades centered around talent or cap space, they are real easy and collusive about deals to avoid luxury tax payments. They want to know other teams will have their backs when the day comes they need to dump some albatross to avoid their own tax bill. I don't know how else to explain why Portland would take such a pittance for their troubles.
I wonder if the Cavs will even use that TPE. They are probably unlikely to use it this season because of LT implications. And then next summer there will be 12+ teams with huge gobs of cap room so having that TPE won't be all that special to the Cavs other than at least giving them the flexibility to do something. People were looking for big things with the Haywood n/g contract but this looks like a bust. The Cavs did good to get the TPE to extend their flexibility, but again, I doubt they use it, or use it for anything significant.
That's an interesting point but I think Portland got so little because Cleveland was able to leverage the threat of Philly absorbing Haywood instead to keep the price low. Also, you have to remember this isn't a traditional salary dump where the team accepting the player has to keep him on the roster and pay him for the year. Portland is gonna waive him and maintain their cap space since the contract isn't guaranteed. Basically they got two second rounders for having a guy on their roster for 48 hours. Seems about right to me. This move doesn't preclude them from doing something else later.

Denver. They are not going any where, if he catches fire there, they can at least trade him later for a pick. If not, there will be even better to tank.
Neither of these guys are very intriguing. Miller can hit the 3, but we already stacked at that position.
