Even James Harden actually showed up in a couple of Playoff Games with 30 point games. Yet Kyle Tucker is worse than James Harden in big moments. Kyle Tucker not running hard fielding balls, takes wrong Route for a error. Expands his strike zone, strikes out swinging on a inside slider underneath his hands. Body Language is terrible, facial expression of being angry. The last 2 Postseasons he is horrendous. Kyle Tucker really needs a Sports Psychologist, being so Introverted and awkward.
I think both of those are pretty safe and acceptable statements. He was never a great defensive SS and it's a young man's position. Now hasn't played there since he was 25. 1b was only on the table if he wasn't able to throw and severely reduces his on field value.
Did Breggy have his bone spur surgery yet? Or he’ll probably wait for the day after the contract signing.
Anyone with an ESPN+ subscription willing to post what they think Bregman will get? I'm curious, but not curious enough to actually give them my money.
Bones Chips removed means he needs Tommy John Surgery. I've seen this many times with Pitchers. Johan Santana bone chips removed, he started pitching than Tommy John Surgery. OFJasson Dominguez of the Yankees also had Tommy John Surgery.
Baseball is a tough game. Having an arthroscopic procedure like this in the off season is very very common. If Alex wasn't able to finish the season at 3b or even on the field, then maybe I would be worried about his future. I'm not. And, for the record, him playing through it AT THIRD BASE when the options were awful and may have killed the playoff chances is huge for me. He could have said he needed to play 1B or DH because of his elbow and management would have dealt with it. He continued to play 3B, in pain (and maybe further injury risk I don't know), because that's the kind of player he is. And that's another reason he should be an Astro for life.
True, but also if this wasn't a contract year and he had a 5 year contract in front of him he may very well have sat out. (perhaps to the benefit of team long term but still)
I feel the opposite. I think if all he had were bone spurs, that's a minor surgery and would not impact his contract offers (and hasn't effected his market according to anything I have read) If he caused additional damage playing, that's what would have impacted his offers. He could have played it safe and had surgery early, or just DH'd to minimize possible further injury and a worse prognosis that would cost him $$$. If he legitimately needed surgery, no GM would hold that against him.
Could be, but he got off to such a slow start (As usual) and started to get hot. I could see him wanting to maximize his salary potential as well. Show owners that he is a warrior and not a worrier
