    I understand, MadMax.

I tend to be a very forgiving person nowadays.

One of the by-products of the onset of middle-age, I'm afraid.

Again, I understand that we all tend to measure success in this sport (as fans) differently.

Ultimately, it's just not practical to me to put the cart before the horse. I don't see anything right now, for example, that would warrant any of us expecting anything from the Rockets this season other than a very low playoff seeding and a probable first-round ouster. Same song, different year, I know. But actually not a bad season, given the circumstances, from most of the higher-ups.

I'm actually a little tired of it myself now, honestly. But only because I'm tone-deaf. And a terrible singer, to boot.

Winning is what fans (including me, believe it or not) want to see from their teams. And any port we can find in the storm, I guess, is a welcome one.

But I don't think you get to point C before you go through point B.

Not to mention starting at point A.

I guess my point is that, by and large, you win what you can, when you can, however you can.

As the great Satchel Page said "...You pays yo' money and you takes yo' chances..."

The Los Angeles Clippers, for example, have advance further in the postseason the last decade than the Rockets have. Same thing with the Golden State Warriors.

Those teams have also missed the postseason altogether more often than not over that same time span.

I guess, as glass-half-full scenarios go...

...the Rockets aren't doing TOO badly (lol)......

Pretty witty that the title has "BREAKING" without the news in the title.

I figured it was on purpose a subtle bit of humor.

36 pages and I have yet to comment.

All I have to say is: What other professional sports team can one of their hardcore fans hear the phrase "Out for the year" and not even flinch?

    I'm numb.

Eh, they get it pretty bad too but it's mostly to complimentary players. To me, it's nothing like the constant injury drama we've dealt with over the years.

And hell, that's placing aside the fact that our players get shot and our HOF'ers get carried off the court on stretchers.

If misfortune is lurking it'll surely find it's way to our injury report.

    Greg Oden?

Brandon Roy - this year...and probably his entire career...I would take Yao and his injury over Roy and his right now.

Well, the comment I made was referring to being numb to season ending injuries. Roy is hurt but he's still out there playing.

And for as good as Oden probably would have been he was still nowhere near as established as Yao or T-Mac were.

Honestly I think yao has a better chance of returning to dominance than roy only because atleast yao can get back to being 100 percent and back on the court before he would get hurt again. But roy will never be 100 percent again playing at a high level even though he is still playing right now. Its a shame what has happened to both of them cause they had franchise hall of fame talent and we only got to see them do there things before they entered there primes which does show how good they are. I really hope yao gives it one more go he deserves to be able to come out and really give it a go I don't really count this year as he only played 5 games and we never gave him a 30 min game. This may sound weird but I think yao would have been less suspect to injury had he played more early on and got his timing and game shape back which would have gave him a more comfortable feel for being on the court.

Plus Yao is team-centric, while all Roy does is whine about Miller handling the ball.

First of all, I am not interested in fighting idiots at all. But I do have fun in calling them out.

Well, what's wrong with being a YOF? It is wrong if you only support a single player of the team and you put the interest of that player ahead of the team. I think this is the definition of a YOF around here. Maybe you have a different definition. Please share your thought.

That said, I have even more problem with fools like Spiegel whose day job is to sit around here waiting for the chance to call out the name on someone. Do a search on the post history of this fool.

Or perhaps you know more than enough already? ;)

Ohhhhhhhhhh, you agree with me, amazing.

Then what are you talking about here in your previous post?

I hope you don't have bipolar disorder. ;)

By the way, I saw almost 90% of your last 50 posts were made in threads with "Yao" in the title. So if YOF is defined as someone whose purpose here is to talk about Yao primarily, you should be considered a YOF too. Funny, isn't it? :p

Anyway, I have seen one or two fools who talk like a YOF lately. But I have also seen fools, like Spiegel, who wait for every single chance to call out this name on someone here. In my opinion. they are equally disgusting. Do you agree? And where do you advise idiots like Spiegel to go? I am very curious about your mindset. Please share.

Didn't feel like this merited a new thread. Rockets ask for Yao disabled player exception:
