I'm betting he tries to have the military build the wall. I get the Democrats' position on this. No way no how would I really expect any Democrat to vote for it without some big concessions. But, honestly I don't understand the Republican opposition to it, unless it's actually on the basis of principled good governance -- which one would not expect from a politician. Do they think actually funding the wall is going to hurt them in 2020?

More than likely. Shift the cost to the military or something he has control over as president then steal the money meant for troops .. . and put it in to a wall If troops/vets/etc don't get paid .. . so what. . .he got his victory Rocket River
I figured we could just forego some military equipment investments. For example, the new supercarrier USS Gerald Ford cost $13 billion. So we just make do with 10 Nimitz class aircraft carriers instead of 13. Btw, looking up aircraft carrier costs really put the cost of the wall in some perspective. The Ford is state-of-the-art and the wall is an inert slab of concrete and steel. It doesn't have an Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch system or an Advanced Arresting Gear system. It's not even nuclear-powered.

If they put an electromagnetic launch system in the wall and made it nuclear powered I'd totally flip and be pro-wall. Not sure what the utility would be, but at least the wall would be cool af.
