How was the Virginia Tech shooting classified? Insane or terrorist? What about the Lubys (?) rampage in Killeen all those years ago? I think there is an element of insanity in all these incidents and any terrorist really. Crazy ****s terrorizing innocent folks require a dirt nap.

Here is the problem with your overly general definition of a terrorist; You can contort many major crimes to define a "terrorist". The issue with that? See: Patriot Act.

If it was a Muslim doing the same action in a church, it would be called terrorism without anyone blinking twice...

    I'm just saying.

The Fort Hood shooting kinda proves you wrong there, although it definitely should have been called terrorism.

The whole point of the definition that I posted was that it wasn't my definition. On that same article it explicitly stated that the concept of terrorism is open-ended. Welcome to the world of blanket labels! You better be ready for the term to finally fulfill its broad intent!

Terrorism is the deliberate harm of noncombatants for a social or political agenda.

The fact that this topic has only 5 pages after an entire day is extremely telling.

Damn, Sikhs are some of the nicest and polite people I know. What did they ever do anything wrong to anyone in the USA.

I just found out about this incident. I've been out all day and the only media I've been watching is the Olympics.

Very tragic. I don't want to jump to conclusions about the causes without knowing much more but I really feel for the Sikh community and what they must be going through.

I feel like attacking someone in their place of worship is basically the biggest symbolic act of terrorism.

I remember on 9/11, walking to class with a Sikh. Some jackass walks down the hall and calls him (well really both of us since I'm brown too) "a towlhead" and that our people destroyed the WTC.

Its ****ty that people conflate a Sikh turban with being Arab. Which is made sillier by the fact that Sikhism was a social movement to reject the order of Hinduism and Islam. (For example opposition to covering women is a big deal in Sikhism)

Yet idiots who know nothing about religion confuse them for radical terrorists when nothing could be further from the truth.

Sikhism has to be one of the religions I respect the most and has done a lot for the poor of Punjab who were frankly treated terribly by Hindu and Muslim leaders alike.

If this was done out of confusion with Islam, there better be a national condemnation of this from all sides. I'm not ok with this **** getting forgotten about. Sikhs (and Muslims for that matter) don't deserve to be confused for radical terrorists. And we as a country need to make that difference clear and not simply ignore the ignorance of a group of Americans.

That it's Sunday and a lot of people are away from their PC's?

    It'll blow up on Monday.

RIP to those innocent people murdered by this terrorist act of violence.

Idk, I would think most people find more time on Sunday to be around their PC seeing as how it's the day that most people are home and have free time. Especially on Sunday nights... But I could be wrong.
