This is bad when you can't trust putting your kids in elementary schools without thinking this stuff will happen. Maybe they need to build schools like prisons and have only one main entrance with armed police checking in visitors with metal detectors. Maybe remote internet feed classes are the way to go. I dunno but this is bad.

    Don't go there.

Random mass shootings such as this have occurred in some countries with very stringent gun control.

Legal access to guns isn't the problem. Mentally deranged murderers are the problem.

We don't even know if the guns this nutjob used were obtained legally or not.

I'm not a big crier, especially on behalf of others, but my eyes are watering.

    So so so sad.

    RIP, RIP, RIP.

I feel for those kids, those adults, those parents, that school, that town, for everything that is good and right with the world.

tragic, i cant understand what drives someone to shoot kids, especially this young.....i'm curious as to what they'll find out about him in the next few days...

I've worked at and attended enough schools to know the majority are very easy to get into without being questioned. That's what has to change first.

1:17 p.m: One shooter is described as 24-years-old, armed with four weapons and wearing a bullet-proof vest, sources tell ABC News.

**** you rednecks and your guns. How many more innocent children and movie goers have to die some Jim Bob can shoot raccoons in his backyard?

It's not a gun control issue? If he went in there with a knife there would be a lot less dead children.

    I'm sick to my stomach.

**** everything. This is some of the most tragic American news I've ever read.

It's time for control. Frankly, **** anyone who thinks otherwise.

this is the first time i've ever felt physically sick after hearing news of a shooting. it's settling in and i still feel like dry heaving.

something that will stay with these families, students, teachers, and community for the rest of their lives.

    just so depressing.

Every time some crap like this happens, I am always hoping they will check the scumbag's medical records, and I am always expecting to see the person was on these psychoactive 'therapy' drugs like effexor and garbage like that.

I will not be surprised in the least if the majority of the people who go crazy and feel the urge to kill do have that stuff in their systems.

What a terrible terrible tragedy... :(
