obviously you wouldn't be one to be picked for that responsibility. some teachers actually care about the kids enough to defend their lives. they would have to supply some compensation for those who decide to volunteer to be trained.

Reality

Gun violence will persist and increase as long as the two following things apply.

1) Guns are about as easy to obtain as a driver's license

2) Mental health is an afterthought in terms of common medical care

Until these two things are fixed, nothing is going to change.

 

It would be much more difficult to smuggle weapons into the US than it is to grow weed or smuggle.

 

I agree with your 2nd point completely, but if someone is in the state of mind that they are going to shoot up a place with innocent people, obtaining a gun illegally isn't exactly a tough thing for them to do either.

 

Now reports of 27 dead, including 14 children :-(

You do realize there are hundreds of millions of guns already in circulation... banning them is next to impossible. Guns can last hundreds of years, we've made our bed now we sleep in it.

 

Cars serve a purpose in daily, functional human life. What positive purpose do guns serve in relation to everyday existence.

truly makes me sick. just thinking of the horror. my son is 2 1/2 years old and is laying here asleep (he got up at 5am for a few hours ) it makes me really wonder.

Otherwise, your attitude sounds very defeatist. I disagree whole heartedly. Changes and progress can be made. Nothing will happen overnight. That doesn't make it not worth doing, though. (Double negative awesomeness woot)
