Prayers go out to those kids that just witnessed their friends killed. So sad.

Bro, I don't care if guns were legal or not. I'm not crazy about or against them.

These crazy mother ****ers would have gotten guns illegally like others have pointed out. They could have also easily used bombs, gasses, explosives, and many other deadly weapons.

I'm willing to bet the word 'gun' has been thrown around more in this thread than the word 'condolences'.

Rationalize, there's a place & time for everything.

Isn't that what the D&D is for? We are in the Hangout right?

Hate to tell you, we live in a horrible world, this is nothing new. Removing guns won't prevent people from hurting children or other innocents. We've been slaughtering each other over nothing since the beginning of time, long before guns even came around.

Finding out why people do what they do, and getting to the bottom of how we can help mentally unstable people before they do something like this is our only hope. Even then, it will never be full proof, and this will continue to happen as more people fill the planet.

If 99.999% of all Americans are sane enough to never do something like this, that leaves 3300 that are insane enough to do it.

If you've been around CF.net long enough, you know that truly volatile topics like this always end up this way.

Edit: Actually, the D&D is the least productive place to discuss this topic in the first place, due to the obsence amount of trolls that lurk there.

its not about that. its about decency. i have about the sickest since of humor/random sense of humor a person can have. but this is not the place for a debate.

i think some people out there have a hard time taking just a moment and try to sympathize about situations. take a second and think about your child, or a niece of nephew suffering and dying. or not even getting hurt, just running for there lives in fear. and see how that makes you feel.

there is obviously a place for debate to try and figure out how to combat this situation. but like i said i guess i just didnt feel this was the place (or time)

It's understandable, discussing with everyday people in your life is no different. It is tragedy, and people handle it differently.

This situation seriously isn't about gun control. It's about the psycho who decided that he was going to murder children. He would have done it one way or another. I think that finding out what makes these sickos tick should be the main point of concern.

They're saying it appears the shooter concentrated on one classroom...

the man that was arrested was someone who was coming out of the school at the time of the shooting...they're not sure if he was involved in any way, just detaining him for now..

Then go to CNN maybe? Not trying to be offensive, don't you think that would be a better source of updates?
