Crazy stuff. It seems like a lot of people are using violence because of disagreements.

Idiots and religion....he writes a book called Satanic Verses, which is about verses removed from the Quran as Mohammed was faked into talking to Satan or some such and should be ignored.....

Religion is just made up hocus pocus but we have been killing each other over it for centuries.

I recalled that Iran had lifted the Fatwa and the article confirms that.

Curious, what do u believe in and how does that impact the way u live your life/guide your kids.

Like im sure u were brought up in a household of religion of some sort, kinda extreme to go from that to religion being hocus pocus.

I don't believe in any religion at all, I think it is all made up hocus pocus - I believe in teaching right vs wrong and having consequences for those choices.

Do I believe in a God? Maybe - something probably created this universe, so that would be a god, but I don't believe for one second that ANY religion is even close to correct.

They are all bullshit made up to control the ignorant masses, and to think that we are literally killing each other over a time when fables were written and stories were told to help explain the unexplainable is just mind numbing.

Religion is one of the worst things to happen to mankind, ever.

pretty Broad stroke of hatred to all religion. Tru religion has been used to cause folks to kill each over religion war, cause/create divide amongst ourselves. religion has also been used by greedy folks to profit over the masses.

I can see the negative of religion, but theres a lot of folks who use it to overcome insecurities and have hope for the future.

My stance in life is pretty simple, too much of something is bad for u. i see no problem with a little religion influencing your moral compass, but the fanatics or folks that push u into their religion or their beliefs are awful.

US politics being influenced by white folks and their Christian values is awful.

Curb Your Enthusiam spent a whole season on Larry David having a Fatwa on him for writing Fatwa:The Musical, and he ended up meeting with Rushdie to figure out what to do about it.
