I think Moss goes to Redskins, Bears, or Titans.

Damn, and the Colts could surly use a wide out. Depends on what the sheriff thinks he has left.

I had a feeling this would happen after his presser yesterday. Just didn't think it would happen this soon... Damn... I wonder who will pick him up.

Favre actually played well last game, that interception wasn't his fault, just a great play by the defense snatching the ball out of Harvin's hands.

Moss looked like he quit on several plays. I think the Vikings are probably hopeful that Sidney Rice is back.

No way. Andre Johnson is good enough, and the team does not need a cancer on the other side.

If waived a team can claim Moss and take on his contract for the rest of the season, which doesn't hurt the Vikings at all. The teams with the worst records get first dibs on Moss and if he clears waivers then the Vikings will still have to pay Randy and Moss can sign wherever he wants.

If you are waived, you have to clear waivers in order to be an unrestricted free agent. Since he was waived, any team can claim within the waiver period which is usually 24-48 hours. If a team claims him, they are on the hook for the rest of his salary for the year. Teams with the worst records have first waiver priority. If he clears waivers, he becomes an unrestricted free agent and he can sign with any team.

If he was released, he would have been an unrestricted free agent and wouldn't have been put through waivers.

OK, now that that has been explained.....so if the Buffalo Bills claimed him off waivers he would have to go there?

He could choose not to report, but I suspect he would forfeit the remainder of his 2010 contract.

Looking from the Vikings perspective, why would any team want to release a player rather than just waive them? At least by waiving them there is a chance some other team will pick up the salary, right?

I don't think he would have to go there. If he doesn't show up, he doesn't get paid but they would have his rights.
