There is another thread about them in the dish and they're the flavor of the month good team with no superstar. Also, they are by many considered an example of how superstars aren't everything with how they've turned out after the Melo trade. Which is funny because Melo isn't a superstar, a good all star player, but not on the level of his buddies in Miami.

The definition of a superstar is necessarily subjective, and it is often circular in relation to championship: You can't win without a superstar. You aren't a superstar if you don't win. Many people said Dirk wasn't in the class of guys like Duncan and Shaq. Now that he won a ring, he's suddenly promoted to superstar status. (Same thing could be said about Paul Pierce and Garnett.) That to me is question begging.

If Melo is not a superstar, there are pretty much only about 5 or 6 guys that count. And some of them are on the same team. So if the "superstar theory" holds and that players like Melo isn't real superstar, then only 3 or 4 teams have a shot at the championship for the next few years. And the Rockets ain't one of them and probably won't in the foreseeable future.

Garnett was always a superstar. Pierce is a good example. Ray Allen is an even better example.
