I had to look this up. Has Perry addressed this fact? What a crook. Rick Perry's Inconvenient History With Republicans Charged with Drunk Driving ED ESPINOZA MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2014 Another source: http://lubbockonline.com/interact/b...ry-newest-member-gop-felons-club#.U_Od1sVdXZM
Why Rick Perry Will Be Convicted http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jim-moore/why-rick-perry-will-be-co_b_5686664.html The PIU had been investigating the Cancer Research and Prevention Institute (CPRIT), a $3 billion dollar taxpayer funded project that awarded research and investment grants to startups targeting cancer cures. The entire scientific review team, including Nobel Laureate scientists, resigned because they said millions were handed out through political favoritism. Investigations by Texas newspapers indicated much of the money was ending up in projects proposed by campaign donors and supporters of Governor Perry. In fact, one of the executives of CPRIT was indicted in the PIU investigation for awarding an $11 million dollar grant to a company without the proposal undergoing any type of review. Once you hit send, that email is forever memorialized in the mail server. If their IT was doing their due diligence, that email server should also be backed up so removing all traces of an email could be close to impossible.
Hmmmmm...what do I believe? The "reasoning" given by the Huffington Post and the Dallas News above, or the editorials from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times? You decide which is more credible and thorough.
Editorials are opinions, just like the majority of posts in this thread. I think it was JuanValdez who said the case was going to come down to the interpretation of the law in question. My personal opinion, along with the opinions of the WSJ and the NY Times, is that Perry will be vindicated. The reason why I cited those two sources is their general credibility in addition to their well-reasoned arguments, IMO. I think they add to the discussion, but I'm not saying anyone on here has to agree. Just don't be an idiot like mc mark and make a baseless generalization without reading them. For the record, I read the HuffPo article, but I didn't feel like replying to it directly.
Yep, politics as usual. Damn you're good, nobody can see right through it. I'm blinded by the well reasoned editorials!
This is a weak case, and I expected more from the title, like using his campaign warchest for other activities. Which since both sides do it, it's much ado about nothing for them...
I'm not a huge Perry fan, but the way he is handling this situation is top notch. Makes me like him more. IMO, this is going to backfire big for Demos.
