I think she is a POS who should be very ashamed of herself. The is the prototype of entitled pompous jerks we need to filter out of the government.
Wasn't his "threat" to defund the department after she had initially refused to resign? Wouldn't that be a pretty normal response for someone in her position who has done what she has done to step down? The whole video evidence thing was her protestations about saving her career and trying to get the Sheriff (?) Greg (?) to intercede on her behalf. She wanted special treatment-- even to the point of jeopardizing the special fund by not resigning. I'd be surprised if much came of this. Seems more about embarraassing Perry
Why are you focusing on what she did? Whether she refused to resign or not has nothing to do with whether or not Perry violated the law.
She might have killed somebody. She didn't refuse to resign for any other reason than to save her Democrat hiney. :grin:
No. A public servant can't try to threaten or coerce another independent one into an action. He is not her boss or her supervisor and has no authority over her. None of that has anything to do with anything. Yes, she sucks. That doesn't make blackmail legal.
And that's her right. Let's say Senator Cruz gets a DWI. Do you think it would be legal for Obama to deny Texas highway funds unless Senator Cruz resigns? And then is Cruz a bad guy for not doing so and costing Texas a bunch of highway money?
Well if he was her boss it would never have come to this. Is the DA facing similar charges for her efforts to coerce the officers into letting her go? I've not heard a thing about that. How long ago was her arrest? It all just seems too politically motivated.
All politicians are corrupt. Perry is a politician. He is, therefore, corrupt. See how that works? Sometimes I wish we could take Austin and just trade it for,oh, I dunno, Reno, or something. The entire state would be way better off. You can travel all across the state and meet sane people everywhere, and then when you get to Austin, Major is the closest thing to a "normal" person you're going to meet. Anyone who thinks that this isn't politically motivated has an extra hole in their head. Perry has been rehabbing his national image and looks like a threat, he is scoring big points won the immigration issue, and the glasses almost make him look intelligent... therefore he must be ridiculed so that Billary has no real competition. He is the anti-Billary, and he must be eliminated.
Perry is not her boss, she was elected by the voters of the county and is accountable to them. She will not resign because that allows the Governor to appoint a temporary replacement while her office is investigating Perry and his political cronies for graft. Mr. Perry used his office to defund the very organization that is investigating him. Does that sound ethical to anyone? And Ms. Clinton will have to face someone, I don't think Mr. Perry scares her. Jeb Bush would contest the Centrist vote more but of course the Teabags won't let him.
Ha. He literally said he will veto the funds until someone suitable is put in place...how is this not admitting his abuse of power?
Happy to answer that question in a thread about a Democratic governor's illegal and unethical action. But this thread is about Perry, and the GOP response in this thread seems to support his action. So, do you believe it was ethical?
Republicans have been more generally known for underhanded politics since Nixon. You'd have a hard time dispelling that notion.
