    The title is misleading.

If he heard VG on the radio saying the things he related, it's not misleading at all.

I really don't get the frenzy to bash unproven posters. I take every new poster at their word until proven otherwise. alirules may have heard exactly what he said -- he may be right on the money, or he may have misinterpreted -- the devil here might be in the details (that's why I asked him to post any specifics he had). Or maybe he was just lying as some of you seem to assume, which makes no sense whatsoever to me. I mean, if he was gonna lie, I'd think he'd come up with a bigger story. The only thing I'm mad about is I actually listened to that show last night for about an hour. What a terrible, idiotic, annoying host.

I posted a trade I had heard on the radio from a claimed 'insider' and he said Elton Brand was coming to Houston. It didn't happen, but I heard it on the radio. Did I lose my credibility?

I don't think people are coming down on him for trying to break a story. I think some people are questioning if he really heard a radio station say it. People were trying to confirm with the radio station and didn't come up with any confirmation. If the radio station said what he claims then its fine.

    I didn't bash him...I didn't say anything about credibility.

I said the report was BS. I never once spoke towards him personally.

But since we are on it, if somebody is gonna report "breaking news" from a random and unrelated news source without the ability to directly support it or an additional source...then I'd say that is questionable. Since it is questionable...the title of the thread is misleading. Not terrible, I suppose, but the wording could have been chosen better given the source.

Hey, this article you posted is GREAT news for us pro-Gundyites.

    Why? Simple.

b/c we know we can at least, match, if not exceed this $5/year deal. This is totally great! i.e. the economics aspect of this equation is now irrelevant and all things being equal, the better team IS US!

With creativity, I bet we can easily do better financially for JVG. Woo Hoo!

    This makes me sooo happy.

    :D

I don't think any of us should be talking about credibility. We spend most of our time on a f***ing basketball message board after all.

    Lighten up.

I posted that message about credibility thinking of something off the top of my head meaning for it to be more comedic than anything. Who really gives a flying f*ck about credibility? I know I dont. ZRB is right, you guys need to lighten up.

Yeah, "Fox sports has learned that Jeff Van Gundy has still not made a decision."

Also remember that there is no income tax in Texas and cost of living is nothing compared to the NE.

This is rediculous. I can't believe the Rockets are waiting on pins and needles for this guy. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

What is there left to decide? If Gumby is going to announce his decision tommorrow, he obviously already knows who he is going to pick today. Tommorrow's clutch headline. "Vandy Gundy chooses DC," citing family issues.

anybody want to bet the exact time Van Gundy makes his decision? not the official annoncement, but the first time he says, "ok..I've made up my mind'

    Ok, Ill go first.

He will make the decision around 12:01 am tonight. He will be in that time of sleep when your half asleep but half awake, and he will jump up, startle the wife, turn to her and yell, "never underestimate the heart of a champion!!!"

    the wife says "what?"

Gundy says: "I was asking for guidance to help me with this decision and the words never underestimate the heart of a champion popped in my head so baby we're going to Houston!"

    then 'the wife' yells, "Kapaya!"

Soon after Les and CD started the coach searching work, I know it is not going to be easy. They are just toooooooo indecisive. When opertunity comes up, grab it. They should have pushed Brown harder before Pistons even brought up the topic and they should have got JVG even before Wizards had chance to make him an offer. I haven't heard any talk about trading in the offseason. I hope they are thinking about it.

Unfortunately, Washington is offering A LOT more money. I just heard Jim Gray say it on the pre-game show. :(
