Their misguided policies are making more terrorist groups. They aren't helping even if that is their intention. Their occupation of West Bank and Gaza, spawned Hamas, Their occupation of Lebanon spawned Hezbollah. They were fighting other groups but their misguided policies only made matters worse.

I will also say it again. Anyone who chooses civilian targets and is careless about taking civilian lives isn't a good guy..

I disagree, and feel Israel has not chosen civilian targets for the sake of, and this discounts your point. Civilians have always died in war and even the the U.S. military to this day has friendly fire deaths...In another thread, Deji made a great homegrown account of why the israelis are the good guys in the fight against Hezbollah...From everything I have seen, Israel is doing it's best in a difficult situation as a result of Hezbollah...

Did you not read the quote from the ISraeli military commander who ordered the destruction of 10 buildings in a business center for ever missle Hezbollah fired?

Those are not military or Hezbollah targets.

Civilians have alwasy died in war, but that doesn't excuse targeting business buildings in an area that has nothing to do with Hezbollah. It doesn't excuse killing UN observers after Israel's leader gave his word that their position wouldn't be struck, the workers called 10 times to get the bombing stopped, and were told it would be.

It doesn't excuse the Israeli orders to evacuate areas, and then firing missles into civilian cars as they followed those evacuation orders.

It doesn't excuse the use of cluster bombs and other non-precision bombing carried out by the Israelis in areas heavily populated by civilians.

    It doesn't excuse this
Disregard for the innocents precludes someone from being a good guy.

I think Israel is showing MUCH regard for the innocent through their actions which display tactics of working around whenever posible. In the long run, this is the greatest benefit for the innocent in the fight against Hezbollah...Hezbollah is the enemy of the innocent. 1559 must be in effect. I welcome a lebanese military prescence coupled with a UN peacekeeping with real teeth in the deconstruction of hezbollah...

Dropping cluster bombs in civilian areas, and destroying buildings in the business district with no strategic value is showing regard for innocent life?

I guess you just have a very weak idea of what regard for innocent life is.

Hisbollah are terrorists. Israel has every right to defend itself.

It is funny that the supporters of Israeli aggression call Hezbollah terrorists and then try to equivocate Israel's targeting of a UN outpost with the actions of terrorists. Nice job guys.

I agree. But they don't have a right to do what they've been doing, some of which has nothing to do with defending itself.

Man, is this what we have reduced ourselves to - comparing "like" incidents and their severity?

We're really missing the boat on all of this, me thinks.

(PS - How can ANYONE, EVER defend the acts of Hezbollah????)

(PSS - The above PS statement does not necessarily reflect the author's defense of Israel)
