and this is why this stuff will never end and why I have a problem with the labeling. we label terrorists to make them illegitimate. therefore we do not negotiate with them, we are not concrened with their concerns. therefore we will never reach an end to this mess.

do I think you can negotiate with some of these groups, probably not, but labeling them terrorists forces us not to. and therefore its just one violent act after another. wars aren't ended by violence, they're end by negotiation.

lol. I was about to post that it's best to ignore tinman's r****ded posts on foreign policy, since he obviously spends entirely too much time watching "24".

It's like taking a 12yr old's view of politics seriously.

It's interesting how people condamn terrorism on one hand than turn around advocate terrorist activity of their own, sponsored by State non the less.

Dude, what are you talking about? Your whole point in your first post in this thread was that they both have the same 'motive' thus they are the same. You're now backpedaling away from that statement and clinging to some dumbed down comparison showing they're both terrorists. Uhh yeah, thanks for pointing that out Captain Obvious.

As much as you would like to deny it, their motivation is not the same. Hezbollah, regardless of their methods, is defending their homeland, and has been for the better part of 20 years from Israeli agression. Are you seriously denying this fact that Israel did not occupy Lebanon? You simply comparing two completely opposite entities (in this case these London hijackers and Hezbollah) is just another common conservative tactic to ignore root causes, identify a common enemy based on some broad generalization (irregardless of the fact that shi'ites and sunnis have been in turmoil for some time now), and delegitimize what is a legitimate concern, in this case Israeli terrorism.

This is laughable. Not once did I say I support Hezbollah. You simply assume that because you can't stand to hear the truth that perhaps they do what they do for a reason and perhaps they were formed for a reason and in response to something. In your world, you want to believe everything occurs in a bubble and that Muslim terrorism is done for kicks. You want to eliminate any rationalization of any action so that in your mind you can justify Israeli actions.

And the fact that you don't think Israel is a terrorist state is a joke in and of itself, but we've already established that.

I heard that Republican radio hosts love the 24 series because its puts the fear back in Americans. I've heard Limbaugh and the Zionist Michael Savage comment on how it is their favorite show to watch.

Bin Laden, himself denied his involvement to 9/11 shortly after the attacks. When he realized the power he would gain by stating his responsibility for the attacks, he changed his tune. Clever guy.

To spin it? Ridiculous. Whomever says something like this is our enemy.

In 2001. His quote above was from 2003. But he has expressed his hatred of the US long before that... maybe he was concerned about becoming a target?

You think hezbollah is just about resistance?

I would bet that many call al qaeda a resistance movement also.

No, not to spin it. He hates America, obviously. My point is that Arab rhetoric is laced with hyperbole. It's just how Bush comes up with cute catch phrases to rally around the flag except in their case it's more extreme. Yes, they hate America, obviously, but they're not trying to destroy America.

Actually, I read this in a recent interview published in the New York times. He went on to say that not only did he condemn 9/11, they don't target civilians like Al-Qaeda does, except for in Israel which he considers part of the grid.

Talk about a slippery slope argument. Noone with any credibility would compare Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda.

What are the differences between the two? I honestly do not know I just know both are labeled as terrorist organizations by the U.S. government.

    Operation Bojinka 2006?

I wonder which part of the Pakistani Islamofascist military-jihadist complex was involved (directly or indirectly) in this plot.

More than likely, Pakistani terrorist groups that receive considerable amounts of money, arms, training, and support from the Pakistani government are involved.

The only group organized and sophisticated enough to recruit, plan, and carry out such an attack would be the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). Some of the culprits involved are probably affiliated with LeT in some way. The 7/7 london bombers had links to the LeT, and some reportedly even attended LeT training camps.

But given that early reports identify the culprits as Mirpuris (Pakistani Punjabis from Pakistan occupied Kashmir), the Jaish-e-Muhammed terrorist outfit could also be involved.

Although reports are claiming that the Pakistan government helped foil the plot, theres also the possibility that elements in the Pakistani government are more directly involved, as some reportedly did in the days preceding 9/11:

Early reports on this plot already indicate that the funding came from Pakistan. I wonder if the money came from jihadi outfits or from the ISI..

Al-Qaeda is the little league, has no real method to its madness, and was described recently by the CIA as a loose construction. It's not some real group with collaborative masterminds like the idiots in Washington feed you. It's mainly an idea. Someone in Iraq blows himself up inspired by Al-Qaeda and he's Al-Qaeda. Anyone can be Al-Qaeda.

Hezbollah is an actual group with legitimate political objectives, even if their methods are deemed illegitimate. They are represented in the Lebanese government and carry out social services, like running hospitals and garbage collecting, that the shi'ite of southern Lebanon ordinarily would not have if not for them.

    TALKIN' Al KIDA BLUES

It was a beautiful day in New York town
    Folks jogging, biking, walking 'round
When a couple of airplanes came around
Hit the big towers, knocked 'em down
Worst disaster on US soil ever!.'course, there's the Indians.a few million
Slaves.Enron. Anyway, it was worse than Pearl Harbor!

    President W. was flying around
Far away from New York town
When finally he came on TV,
He said "Why do they hate us? -- 'cause we're free."
Free to round up dark-skinned bearded guys.Free to detain anyone who might have ties to Osama. Al Qaida. Somewhere in Cleveland there's some guy named Al Kida -- K - I - D - A. He's freaking out!

    Congress quickly rang the bell
And tried to fight those terrorist cells
With laws designed to never let
Our country fall to a terrorist threat
Anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who might be a terrorist -- is a terrorist!

There's terrorists using your email name
Sitting next to you at the ballgame
    Terrorists hiding in your bed
    Terrorists borrowing your head
Never seen so many terrorists.I had to turn in my own Mom.you know what they say.unpaid parking tickets aids terrorists

There's laws for this and laws for that
To keep those terrorists under wraps
    Some folks disagree with these
    And talk of civil liberties
But it's like the Attorney General says. If in times like these you can talk about individual freedom.you're probably a terrorist

If you're planning air travel soon
You might want to think about a weather balloon
Nothing gets past those X-Ray Peekers
And don't carry nothing in your sneakers
Sorry for all the delays.if you want to get there so dang fast you oughta take the train.

    Well India and Pakistan
Are thinking of trading nuclear bombs
    Israel and the PLO --
    Suicide's the way to go
Meanwhile the lessons of 9-1-1 are clear. Let's blow up the Middle East.Smoking mar1juana aids terrorists.Cuba's our enemy unless we need a prison camp.John Walker Lindh could be your kid unless we get an economic stimulus package. And let's get that guy in Cleveland - AL KIDA!

Care to offer something substantive for once or shall we merely assume your participation in this forum is limited to stalking MacBeth/Batman and serving up one-liners?
