He was a known entity to Capital Police, so there was more to this than a man standing. Btw, have you seen the footage? Pretty creepy. So before you get up on that high horse, check yourself and get full information.
Ummm how is this creepy looks like a man staring at a building...hmmmmm Sure the feds are gonna say "known entity" saves their rears from looking like fools... But then again we live in a society where laws are passed for banning risque cheerleading...
They found WIRE 3 sticks of something.... And a timing device.... Sounds to me like Headphones. Cheese sticks... and a watch .... What a country!
Thanks. I'm still unclear though, why they thought he was a danger in the first place. It's creepy when he knows the cops are closing in. It would be less creepy to see a guy staring at a building with a bunch of other people milling around.
I'm pretty liberal and tolerant, and in my younger day dabbled in political demonstration, as I tend to think this gentleman was doing... however, I would never have gone to the VFW hall in Vidor, Texas, barefoot and flying my freak flag with two of my best black buddies...and just stood in the middle of the dance floor. That would have been asking for an ass-whooping. This guy was asking for an ass-whooping.
Standing in the street, in all black with a couple of suitcases is asking for an ass-whopping? My! The tourists in New York must be running scared.
This is a no-win situation. If they do too much, it is overdone. If they don't do enough and something happens...
I don't see how never acknowledging what was going around doesn't strike some of you as odd. How many NORMAL people do you know that just stand in one space, like a statue for an extended period of time? He was obviously making a demonstration of some sort.
I don't blame the police at all for acting in the manner they did. In this era of suicide bombers somebody acting in a clearly suspicious manner in an area of clear national importance should be checked out...
