Ok, one more and I'll stop..... Didn't he get the memo, Asian tourists are supposed to carry cameras; if he had followed the rules there wouldn't have been a mixup.
this will probably be in d&d soon so.... quit being so dramatic and saying the US feels like a communist authoritarian state.
You're travel visa has expired, you're flat broke, and can't afford an airline ticket? Take your luggage and stand in front of the Capitol building. The US government will pick you up and arrange a free trip home.
What if they find out these bags contained NOTHING and the guy that was tackled was either deaf or again did not know english. I HOPE HE SUES Wow I can just see the Asian news now...AMERICANS assault a innocent Asian tourist..... AGAIN NO EXPLOSIVES!!! THEY JUST REPORTED SUE THE HELL OUT OF THEM STRANGER!
How do you figure? A man standing infront of a building with two suitcases who either can't speak english or is deaf gets brutally taken down (from what I saw)...his neck popped backed... How is this illegal? What law did he break? I have seen crack heads on COPS do alot more and not get taken down like this.....
you know everyone is bashing on this story because in hindsight everything looks pretty stupid, but imagine things from the perspective of the police. 1. a solitary man with 2 bags 2. not responding to police orders 3. in front of the offices of high ranking public officials offices further it just looks kind of odd seeing a guy dressed in all black with the bags placed on each side of him. i haven't seen any video of this but you have to imagine that even if you don't understand a word that is being said that you would at least respond by some sort of movement or acknowledgement of what is going on around you. how would you react if it was your job to ensure the safety of the capitol?
Dude, it looked like they could've broke his neck. And although they x-rayed the suitcases and determined there was nothing inside they blew em up anyway. You don't think is a little odd???
Maybe he was an alien out to expose the current regime as liars and thieves and murderers, can't have that can we? Situation avoided, good job!
I grant you, his behavior after the police intervention was strange. To stand there when everyone's been evacuated from around you and police are calling to you -- that's weird. But, how did they even notice him in the first place? Why did he come to anyone's attention?
Apparently the guy had been standing there for 20 mins and he is a person "known" to the local police. I'd wait and reserve judgment, but that cop took him out like Terry Tate.
what is odd? that they blew up the suitcases? i don't know what the general policy is for things that were suspected explosives. i really don't get what you mean with being odd. i'm not saying it was handled perfectly but how do you expect it to be when the man makes no response? they can't just calmly walk up to the guy if he isn't responding because you don't know what you are facing. like i said...how would you react if it was your job to protect the capitol and put your life endanger?
Instead of making such a big scene, they should have just quietly set up a perimeter an got one of the ugly police officers with no children to ask the guy what was in the bags. If it turns out to be bombs, then the only casualty is an ugly police officer...no big deal...
The point is that they knew the suitcases had no explosives so why did they blow them up? If they were worried about "toxins" in the suitcases wouldn't blowing them up make things worse by potentially spreading them in the air? Is potentially setting off an toxic explosion right in the heart of DC not a little odd?
