90% of the "with Guile theme" vids are just "our favorite scenes with Guile smashed in somewhere", they're not well done. But this one's nice

What's the reasoning on burying him at sea?

Secretive, avoids conflict, quick...Islamic tradition calls for the body to be "buried" within 24 hours.

I guess. But then they just open up the world to a bunch of conspiracy theorists.

It could be theorized that he's been dead all along; that "they've" been sitting on this...but why? As far as still being alive, no way. If he were to turn up after this bold declaration, confidence would plummet.

Gives the "they didn't really kill him" crowd plenty of fuel for the next decade or so.

If he is alive, then he is caught. If he is still living in a Al Qaeda hideout, he could release a new video to dispel the myths today.

Caught or dead. He is gone, either way.

I'd bet quite a bit of money Al Qaeda will be releasing "new" Osama tapes for years to come.

We are in the digital age, it'll probably be youtube videos. I noticed in Star Wars they say "stolen data tapes", but it just seems like such an outdated thing. One of the few things Lucas could not forsee.

    CNN's running blog...

[Updated, 8:12 a.m. ET] The operation that led to Osama bin Laden's death was American action, a Pakistani official told CNN. "We assisted only in terms of authorization of the helicopter flights in our airspace," said the official, who asked not to be named because he was not authorized to speak about the issue. "In any event, we did not want anything to do with such an operation in case something went wrong," the official said.
[Updated, 7:30 a.m. ET] A U.S. government official tells CNN that DNA matching is underway on the samples from the body of Osama bin Laden. The matching has not beencompleted, but there are photographs of the body with a gunshot wound to the side of the head that shows an individual that is not unrecognizable as bin Laden.
No decision has yet been made on whether to release the photographs and if so, when and how.

    GREAT NEWS!!

News we've been waiting almost a decade to hear. I haven't heard that they got Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama's second in command and (reportedly) his head of operations, but if we haven't, I suspect he doesn't have a lot of time. With luck, we got a treasure trove of information from this raid that will deal a hell of a blow to the organization. Congratulations to our armed forces, the Navy, who's Seals carried out the operation, our intelligence people, and President Obama, who gave the go ahead for an operation less than 60 miles from the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, an operation you can bet the Pakistani government knew nothing about.

A couple of other comments... my guess is that the Pakistani government, at some level, and certainly, IMO, their intelligence service, knew where he was and did nothing. The ramping up of the effort to get Osama in Pakistan by the President, which was criticized for it in some circles, deserves much praise. It worked. And one other comment? I'm going to add extensively to my ignore list. I'm going to place on ignore every fool here who made a disgusting political comment directed at the President and/or our armed forces in response to this, and I will do the same after reading the thread in D&D. If people can't put aside their political agendas at a time like this, I don't want to have a conversation with them. Hell, I wouldn't want to be in the same building with the fools.

What do we do now? Declare victory in Afghanistan and immediately begin pulling out our troops and those of our allies. This is what I was waiting for. We still have a hell of a lot to do, but we can do it covertly and leave the Afghans to kill each other in "peace" again, which they've been busy doing for thousands of years.

    Yes!! We got the b*stard!
