It is quite amusing how you folks enjoy coloring the picture such as to obscure the full truth. Kind of how Bush never put his wars in the budget. You silly conservatives...

So, the red is the Bush tax cuts during his two wars?

Or is it the result of reduced government revenues from the recession caused by the greatest breakdown in government regulation of the investment industry since 1929?

Because I don't think you want to indict the Republican controlled House appropriations of 2009 and 2010 where the big bars are.

Forcing a vote 3 months before a mid term will to that to a bunch of spineless people.

    Nice try at deflection though.

Aren't you getting tired of blaming everyone else?

"Even if the United States meets its Dec. 31 troop withdrawal deadline, private security forces, intelligence agents and unmanned drone aircraft would likely continue to operate in Iraq under the Obama administration, Ron Paul said Saturday.

“I predict we will be very, very much involved in Iraq,” the GOP presidential candidate said during a town hall meeting in downtown Des Moines. “I think it will be unstable for a long time to come, and we will continue to spend a lot of money in Iraq.”

You must be. For all of Bush's first term, everything was Clinton's fault. Since January of 2009, everything has been Obama's fault. That period in the middle, from 2004 to 2008, the conservatives all collectively stuck their fingers in their ears and went "LA-LA-LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU, LA-LA-LA."

If blame is to be meted out, don't you think it should be attributed appropriately?

All of the yellow and most of the red represents Bush's incompetence. The guy placed us into two wars and gave us policies that tanked the economy.

I have not read the whole thread so this may have been posted, but it turns out that wikileaks played a role in this whole mess, providing cables that directly strengthened Iraq's resolve to not grant American immunity.

Ending wars...now that's the power of transparency.

Props to Assange for the balls to release the cables and huge props to Manning* for having the courage to match his convictions. Democracy dies behind closed doors...

*Obviously, Manning has not been charged with any crime, a fact that makes his continued incarceration disturbing.

There have been runors that we will go back in later (maybe after the election) if the Iraqis "ask" us.

It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of money and arm twisting will go into trying to accomplish just that.

    Hopefully not.

exactly, don't be distracted, all he can add to the discussion is distraction because he can't give in to any obama successes.

this is the lulz, seriously. you're still posting about this cable as if the situation was unknown. as already pointed out to you, the 2006 raid was well documented including a thread on this site in which you posted in.

war crime accusations, those that have prosecuted and those that weren't have been well documented.

    Gingrich on Friday,

“This is not about Obama,” he continued. “This is about the general effort that far transcends Iraq. That we have to really reassess our strategies in the region and what we think we’re accomplish. The president is right. You can’t just leave 3,000 or 5,000 troops there. They would simply become targets. If you’re not going to occupy the country, you have to withdraw.”

    Gingrich two days later,

The president has announced what will be seen by historians as a decisive defeat for the U.S. in Iraq. … After eight years, thousands of lives, hundreds of billions of dollars, we will leave in defeat. Don’t kid yourself, it is defeat. Iran is stronger.
