Why would Bush be forced to adjust policy in 2008? He wasn't running for anything.

I was under the Utopian delusion that a coalition of the Free World could go into Iraq and free the people from a tyrant.
It turned into a death trap when we dismissed the army and the police... in retrospect, that was a hard call that went as bad as it could go.

I had the experience of Germany as my mental best outcome.
There is enough money there to go around so maybe deals can be made.....

Because he didn't want his party to get shredded in 2008 any more than it had to. Plus he wanted to be on the right side of history.

If you actually doubt the 2006 beatdown didn't change Bush's policy on Iraq, you are just too far gone for legit discussion.

    Mini history lesson:

    1. Obama suggests timeline for Iraq war / policy change.
    2. GOP rails on Obama
    3. Bush adopts virtually exact same timeline Obama proposed
    4. GOP thrilled with new policy
    5. Obama enacts timeline he proposed and Bush adopted
    6. GOP attacks policy

The troops may be leaving Iraq but they are NOT returning home.

It's amazing how many people keeping falling for the MSM's lies over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

And only 8 1/2 years after "Mission Accomplished."

Not surprisingly, the GOP hates that we're leaving Iraq and is criticizing Obama on it. Michelle Bachmann is pissed that we're not making Iraq reimburse us for the cost of invading and occupying their country.

Okay, but what has Obama done for me lately? I'm hungry and I need dinner. Where is Obama now, and why isn't he making me my dinner?!

Better than W. saying flat out that Iraq was a problem for "the next President" to solve. Damn loser stole a whole decade from us.

Question for the old-timers. How much longer do you think we would've stayed in Vietnam if Congress had kept funding it?

He's just an old white guy who can't process black success or intelligence; because the deck was stacked so heavily in his favor for so long that he assumed we were naturally inferior: corporate America is full of these jerk-offs.

    I don't give a rat's ass what he's like "off the board."
