Maybe but I don't see him ever having the influence, sales, etc. that Jackson has/had.

    You're having an ABSOLUTE LAUGH!

I'm English, I'm also Nigerian, lived in both places. No doubt Diana was loved by a ton of people around the world but not even on the same level as MJ.
You could go to villages ALL OVER AFRICA and there'd be old ladies that couldn't read, never went to school, but they knew of Michael, listened to Michael, loved Michael. I'm absolutely serious. Same thing I'm sure in various small towns and cities around the world from Colombia to Tonga to Vietnam etc.

Since Michael was a musician, he was able to make a difference and impact the lives of people moreso than Di.

I seriously think Americans underestimate the impact of Michael around the world. I know you've seen the footage of his concerts and arrivals at various places around the world but I still think folks here in the states don't get how loved the guy was around the world.

I doubt this will happen and its probably a stupid thought but I think the day of his funeral should be an international day of mourning. Just my silly opinion.

The severe lack of talent in today's pop stars makes me sad.

Did anyone happen to watch any of these two ladies on MSNBC yesterday-Maureen Orth and Diane Dimond?
Both were getting inappropriate with their comments on Michael after his passing was announced. I heard Maureen again on NBC this morning and she went off again on Michaels legacy and the molestation issue. I just found out she is the wife of the late Tim Russert and it makes me wonder how she would have felt if the day her husband passed or the day after, people with agenda's against him were going on TV and instead of offering condolences began to pick at her husband's faults and issues they had with him. I thought it was rather classless.

Seeing some of the same things on Facebook. One person said:

"Ok Sorry nobody stone me but this is funny! "due to the fact that mj is 99% plastic he will be melted down into lego pieces so little kids can play with him for a change"

I wonder how she would feel if her father had a heart attack and somebody said:

"Here lies David. He couldn't stop eating pork rinds."

I don't think anyone is saying that Timberlake is on their level, only that he may be the best of what is left...but that ain't saying much. I doubt Prince would ever want to be known and the King of Pop.

Timberlake is not worthy. He has some talent, I'll give him that. But his brand of pop tends to represent everything that is wrong with pop music today. I could listen to nothing but MJ's music for a whole week, and I don't even like pop. I couldn't stand listening to Timberlake for 10 minutes.

Beyond the initial sadness of losing a pop icon, I'm now sad that we are going to be overwhelmed with news media coverage on him. I will be looking to avoid this at all costs. All I want to know is how he died. The rest is history...a history that is well-known by anyone that grew up when he was making records and was not living in a bubble. I honestly don't care what anybody appearing on any show has to say about him. Their opinion is worthless in my eyes and doesn't change anything. It's not going to change my impressions of him. He had an extreme amount of talent which cannot be denied. But, he also had a very strange side to him that cannot be denied. A part of me thinks fame was ultimately part of his undoing. People living their lives on pedestals and/or under microscopes live in a world that a lot of us simplay cannot understand. You can examine his life ad nauseam...and still not understand the actual person...because all you have is the public persona. He obviously had some issues revolving around money. He spent till he was broke...and I think this is the only reason to do these 50 new concerts. And, ironically, this is what killed him. Had he been more responsible with his money over the years...he wouldn't have a need to fix his debt problems. In my opinion, he had it made for life...and he squandered it.

He probably thought he could just do some new shows and get rich again. God had other plans. One thing for sure, if it is prescription medicine abuse yet again...then noone is learning a damn thing from all the celeb deaths due to prescription drug abuse.
